The game of telephone is a classic ice breaker and party game. It's easy to set up and a lot of fun to play. You and your friends will try to pick a word or phrase, “pass it on” by whispering(耳语) it to someone next to you, and have fun seeing how much it changed during the game. All you will need to play is a couple of friends, a word or phrase, and a whisper.

Get everyone in place.

Although the game of telephone is simple to play, you will need to arrange(安排) the players in a way that supports the game. Have everyone stand in either a line or a circle. Players should be spaced far enough apart that they won't overhear the word when it isn't their turn. Proper position is important when playing telephone.

Start the game.

Choose a person to start the game. Make the person think of a word or give a certain word to him or her. And he or she should whisper it to the person next to them. The pronunciation of the word should sound like many others' as the idea is to see how much it changes by the game's end. Once the word has been told to the next person, they will whisper it to the person next to them.

Continue whispering the word.

Players continue listening to the word and repeating what they think they heard to the person next to them. This is done until the last person in the line or circle is told the word. Every person should have heard the word or phrase by the end of the game.

See how much the word changed.

Once the last person hears the word or phrase, they will say what they think they heard out-loud. This is compared to the original word that the game started with. This is the moment when all the players get to learn just how much the word or phrase changed through their “telephone line”.

Do you get angry when your friends sing loudly or when your best friend does not wait for you after school?If you do,you need to control (控制) your feelings and stop getting angry so easily. Getting angry easily can make you lose friends.

Gary Egeberg,an American high school teacher,wrote My Feelings Are Just Like Wild Animals to help you control your feelings. It tells boys and girls how to stay cool when bad things happen to them. The book says getting angry is not a natural way to act.  It is just a bad habit,like smoking. The book says you can control your anger easily,and all you have to do is to tell yourself not to be angry.

When a baby falls over,it cries only when people are watching it. Like a baby,you can only get angry if you are sure it is the right thing to do.

The book gives much advice to help you if you get angry easily. Here are the top three.

①Keep a record (记录). Every time you get angry,write down why you are angry. Look at it later and you will see you get angry too easily.

②Ask your friends to stop talking to you when you get angry. This will help you calm down soon.

③Do something different. When you get angry,walk away from the problem. Try to laugh!

 阅读下列短文,从每小题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中,选出最佳选项。

Primary school students in Changsha, Hunan Province, have started to learn the Changsha dialect (方言) in a course for them to choose which was newly offered this term.

More than 20 third-grade students from a local primary school have signed up for the course. Many language professors at some major universities in Hunan are teaching it.

Besides the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, students will also get knowledge about the idioms, nursery rhymes (童谣) , figures of speech and culture behind the dialect, according to Luo Xinru, Chinese language professor at Hunan Normal University and one of the teachers of the course.

As our country has spent a lot of energy promoting standard Mandarin (标准普通话) , lots of young children have not learned how to speak local dialects, she said. That's why the country has started to protect different language resources in recent years, she added.

The Ministry of Education carried out the National Language Resource Protection Project in 2015 to do some surveys and better protect its language resources. Our country has set up the largest language resource center in the world, according to the ministry.

Luo said promoting Mandarin and using dialects are not contradictory and children have the ability to speak them at the same time.

"Dialect protection is very important and different dialects which carry different cultures and values should not and will not disappear," she said. "We do not expect all children taking the course to learn perfect Changsha dialect, but they should understand the importance of different dialects and perhaps be willing to dive into the research and protection of them as they grow older."
