Some people have a very good memory(记忆) and can easily learn quite long poems(诗) by heart. O{#blank#}1{#/blank#}have poor memory and can only remember things when they have said again and a{#blank#}2{#/blank#}.

    The famous English writer, Charles Dickens, said that he could walk down any long street in London and then tell you the n{#blank#}3{#/blank#} of every shop on both sides of the street. Many great men of the world have a w{#blank#}4{#/blank#} memory.

    A good memory is a great help in learning a language.  Everybody learns his own language by r{#blank#}5{#/blank#} what he hears when he is a small child. Some children live with their parents in foreign countries and they seem to l{#blank#}6{#/blank#} two languages as easily as one. In school it is not so e{#blank#}7{#/blank#} to learn a foreign language because students have little time for it, and they are busy with other subjects too. A man's mind is quite like a camera, but it takes photos not only of what we see but also of what we f{#blank#}8{#/blank#}, hear, smell and taste. When we take real photos with cameras, there is much to do before the photo is finished and ready to s{#blank#}9{#/blank#} to our friends. In the s{#blank#}10{#/blank#} way there is much work to be done before we can keep a picture forever in our mind.

    Memory is the diary that we all carry about with us.

    I have a pet dog. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} name is Indy. He is {#blank#}2{#/blank#} years old. I love Indy very much. He is a good pet. He is cute and {#blank#}3{#/blank#} . And he is my good {#blank#}4{#/blank#} . I like dogs {#blank#}5{#/blank#} dogs are kind to people. Indy can {#blank#}6{#/blank#} many things for me. For example, Indy can guard (守卫)my home. He can open and close the door {#blank#}7{#/blank#} me. When I give him some food to eat, he will shake his tail(摇尾巴) to thank me. I often {#blank#}8{#/blank#} him to go for a walk. I get Indy from my aunt. I must look after(照顾) him {#blank#}9{#/blank#}. He needs a lot of love.

    Now, Indy {#blank#}10{#/blank#} a part of my family. I love him and he also loves me!

    Last Friday, a storm swept through two villages in the New Territories, destroying fourteen homes. Seven others {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (be) so badly damaged（破坏） that their owners had to leave them, and fifteen others had {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (break) windows and fallen roofs. One person was killed, several were hurt {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (serious) and were taken to hospital, and a number of other people got smaller hurt. Altogether over two hundred people were homeless after the storm.

    A farmer said that the storm began early in the morning and lasted {#blank#}4{#/blank#} over an hour. "At that time, I {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (eat) with my wife and children," he said. "When we heard a loud noise, our house {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (fall) down into pieces all of a sudden, which was like a dream.     Willard Franklin came to my class half a year ago. From his first day here, he kept himself in his own world and never spoke to others. As his teacher, I tried {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (have) a talk with him but failed.

    As Christmas came near, our school decided to raise money for the poor in our school.

    "Christmas is a season of giving." I said, "By {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (give) a little money, you will help some poor students with toys, food and clothes. We {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (start) the collection tomorrow."

    Last winter holiday, I visited a village with only 11 houses. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} the village was very small, I spent a whole day in it.

    The village became popular because {#blank#}2{#/blank#} Grandpa Huang's hard work. He bought a house there over 30 years {#blank#}3{#/blank#}, but in 2010 the village was to be pulled down. In order to save the old village, Grandpa Huang painted on the walls of {#blank#}4{#/blank#} own house and other houses. He painted things that he liked. In the village, there were many paintings of {#blank#}5{#/blank#}, such as cats and birds. The most popular paintings for visitors were of famous people. One of them was a picture of Andy. He and my {#blank#}6{#/blank#} singer. I liked him so much that I asked a visitor to {#blank#}7{#/blank#} a photo of that painting and me. On the ground of the village, Grandpa Huang has painted {#blank#}8{#/blank#} lot of well-known Chinese sayings. From them, Grandpa Huang learned to live a long and happy {#blank#}9{#/blank#}.

    I really had a good time in the village {#blank#}10{#/blank#} wished to visit it again.
