Welcome to England! The weather of England is very changeable. It can be rainy, sunny, windy, warm, foggy or cold at any time of year. If it's raining when you get up in the morning, it can be hot and dry by the afternoon. The west of England is wetter than the east, and the north is cooler than the south. Just be ready for any kind of weather.

    In England, shops are usually open from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. On Sundays, some shops are open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. But a lot of shops are closed. Banks, museums of other places are open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. You can go to the parks at anytime.

All the cities have buses, trains and taxis. People wait in line for buses and they are unhappy if you push in at the front. Don't forget this—traffic goes on the left. Be careful!

    Kingston, Jamaica (population 700，000)

    Kingston isn't a beautiful city, but it's very busy and interesting. There are lots of people and lots of cafes(咖啡馆). There are some beautiful places near Kingston—the Blue Mountains and some beautiful beaches. I love it!

It's a nice place—there's an old square(广场), and it's near the River Thames. There are some beautiful parks, too. Kingston, New Zealand (population 2, 000)Kingston is a small town near Lake Wakatipu in the mountains. It's a really beautiful place, but it's very quiet—there's only one school, one bank and one small supermarket! There's a famous old train there, too.

    The Browns and Mary leave the train station for their home. After half an hour, they get to the Browns' home. Mary sees her new home, and she is very happy. She puts her jacket on the bed. Then Mrs. Brown says, "Mary, don't put your dirty jacket on the bed. "

    It's time for lunch. Mary is happy because she sees her favorite food chicken on the table. She tastes it and says, "Very nice. " Then Mr. Brown says, "Mary, you can't eat before your grandparents eat. And you mustn't talk when eating. "

    After lunch, Mary goes into Peter's room. Peter is not happy. He says, "Mary, you can't come into my room without(没有) asking me.

In the evening, the Browns go to bed but Mary doesn't. She is not happy because she thinks there are too many rules at the Browns' home. With her jacket, Mary goes to the train station. She likes it because there're no rules there.

    I like Africa very much. So my parents and I went to Africa last week. It was an interesting place. On Monday, I rode big elephants. They were big and friendly. I took many photos of them. On Tuesday, we went to visit Lake Victoria. At noon, my father and I collected wood(木柴)to make a fire. Then we had a picnic. We had a good time there. After that we went to the hotel. On Wednesday, we went to Tugella Fall by train. We had a long walk around it. All of us liked Tugella Tall very much. We took the plane back to Canada on Saturday. It was an exciting.

    To be a mechanical engineer, you need to graduate from college with a bachelor's(学士)degree. In college, you will learn problem solving and critical thinking skills.

    Problem solving is very important in the field of mechanical engineering. To come up with the best solution to a problem, mechanical engineers need to think in different ways. They also need to be creative, because they may need to make something that's never been made before. Paying attention to details(细节)is important as well. Many designs depend on a lot of little details.

    Mechanical engineers also need to be able to use different tools, such as calculators, high-speed cameras, and computers. There are many computer programs mechanical engineers use to create designs, run scenarios(方案), and do research.

    As with many other jobs, mechanical engineers should be able to meet deadlines(期限)and work well with other people. Some jobs can be done with just one person, but more often mechanical engineers work on a team to complete a project. If an engineer cannot manage his or her time well and misses a deadline, the whole team gets delayed(拖延).

    Some engineers work in an office, and some travel to different worksites while a machine or product is being built, so they can help solve any problems.

    Mechanical engineering takes a lot of thought. It is a great career for people who like to make objects and machines work, solve problems, and be creative！

    There are many things that you should be careful with when you are alone at home. Read the following situations to protect yourself.

    Keep a list of phone numbers to call for help- such as 110, or a neighbour's number.

    Be careful with the electrical appliances(电器). If you don't know how to use them, ask your parents. Make a safety check before going to sleep.

    (Look through the keyhole when you hear the doorbell. If there are strangers, ask "Who's that?" with the door locked and say "Come back later." Don't tell them that your parents are away. Say "Mum's having a shower." or "Dad's having a sleep.
