Dear Aunt Grace and Uncle John,

 I am {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (write) to tell you that I arrived home{#blank#}2{#/blank#}  (safe). I got very tired on the train and nearly fell {#blank#}3{#/blank#}  and missed my station!

 Thank you so much for inviting me to the farm. You were very kind to me. I enjoyed every minute, especially going to the {#blank#}4{#/blank#}    where we fished together.

    My family went to a restaurant for dinner one night. When we were walking to the restaurant from our car, a girl about my age and her mother c{#blank#}1{#/blank#} towards us. They asked if we had any m{#blank#}2{#/blank#}. My mum asked where they were l{#blank#}3{#/blank#}. The girl said there were six of them staying in an o{#blank#}4{#/blank#} black car.  My mum gave them a few dollars.  Then she sent me inside the restaurant w{#blank#}5{#/blank#} my dad and my three sisters. H{#blank#}6{#/blank#}, my mum didn't come. Later, I found out that she had gone h{#blank#}7{#/blank#} and put all the food in our cupboard into a few bags. Then she brought the food over to the car and gave the bags to the poor f{#blank#}8{#/blank#}. I wasn't there when that part happened, yet I could i{#blank#}9{#/blank#} the joy on their faces. After painting this picture in my mind, I understood w{#blank#}10{#/blank#} my mum had done what she did that night. I will never forget this lesson in kindness from my mum.

    My favourite TV programme is a reality show called Survivor(《幸存者》). It isn't on TV at the moment {#blank#}1{#/blank#}  it was on last year.

    In the show, two teams of people are taken to a(an) {#blank#}2{#/blank#} . All of them have to sleep {#blank#}3{#/blank#}  because there aren't any houses or hotels. They usually choose {#blank#}4{#/blank#} really useful like a tooth brush since they can only {#blank#}5{#/blank#} one thing with them. The people also have to find food and they spend a lot of time fishing and collecting fruits from the {#blank#}6{#/blank#} . Every week one person has to{#blank#}7{#/blank#} . At the end, there are only two people on the island and one of them is chosen {#blank#}8{#/blank#} the winner.

    I really like Survivor because it's very {#blank#}9{#/blank#}  and the people have to do things like hunting for food. I really {#blank#}10{#/blank#}  myself when I watch it. I don't want to be on the show, however, I like 1iving in a house!

    The population of the Earth is growing faster. It is important that we should care for the{#blank#}1{#/blank#}. We need it.

    The Earth gives {#blank#}2{#/blank#} a lot of things. We {#blank#}3{#/blank#} give the Earth a lot. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} some of the things are not good.

    In {#blank#}5{#/blank#} , when something dies, other animals and plants get food {#blank#}6{#/blank#} it. Every animal or plant gives food to other animals or plants. However, animals can't get food from many of the things that we give the Earth. Animals and plants can't eat metal（金属）, plastic（塑料）and glass. These things will {#blank#}7{#/blank#} in the ground for many, many years.

    Some things are very dangerous for plants and animals. In some places, many animals live together. One animal makes food for many more animals. If we put rubbish and chemicals（化学制品）in the water, the plankton（浮游生物）will die. If there isn't any plankton, many animals have {#blank#}8{#/blank#} to eat.

    So what can we do? Don't leave any rubbish（垃圾）in the countryside! Don't make so much rubbish!

    World famous scientist Stephen Hawking(霍金) died {#blank#}1{#/blank#} the age of seventy-six in his home in Cambridge, England on March 14. British Prime Minister Theresa May said Hawking was one of{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(great)  scientists of his time. She also said, "His achievements will not{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(forget)."

    Hawking was one of the most respected scientists in the modern history of{#blank#}4{#/blank#}/ 'fiziks/. Because of an uncommon disease(疾病) , he was kept to a wheelchair.{#blank#}5{#/blank#}, the disease did not stop Hawking from studying. He used every new day that life offered{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(continue) his research of the universe(宇宙). He said, "Where there is life, there is hope." He developed {#blank#}7{#/blank#}way of thinking about problems in his mind to reach a solution.

    This way of thinking has led to his important discoveries. He was{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(one) person to present the idea of some special energy in the universe. At the same time, Hawking tried to explain many of these difficult{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(science) ideas to more people. He{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(write) several popular science books, including the bestseller A Brief History of Time which made him a household(家喻户晓的) name.

    Stephen Hawking spent his whole life understanding the universe. He is, no doubt, a legendary(传奇的) scientist of all time.
