Hi,my name is Erik. I live in a small town in the southeast of England. In my house there are three rooms downstairs ad three rooms upstairs. Now I'll show you some of the rooms.

Kitchen		The fridge—This is the place where mum keeps things cool. Dad's computer—Not everyone in England has a computer in his kitchen but my dad has. Washing Machine—Mum washes our clothes here and hangs them out in our garden to dry.
Bathroom	A toilet. A bath—We fill the bath up with water  and  then  climb  into  it  to wash ourselves. A sink with two taps (one for hot water and one for cold). I clean my teeth at the sink and also wash my hands and face. Laundry basket—This is where I put my dirty clothes for washing.
Bedroom	My own computer and my own television. Wardrobe—to hang my clothes in.Bookcase—for my books. My bed—My bed is high up as I have my  desk  and  my  computer under it.

he living room is also downstairs. It is where the television is. We eat our food and watch TV there. The three rooms upstairs are all bedrooms.

    John is five years old now. He is a good boy. He is very clever and can read very well. But he can't tell the right time by clock. He doesn't say eight o'clock in the morning, twelve o'clock or four o'clock in the afternoon. He always says "breakfast time" for eight o'clock, "lunch time" for twelve o'clock and "tea-time" for four o'clock in the afternoon. His mother wants to teach him to know the time by clock.

    "Can you count, John?" his mother asks him. "Yes. Let me count for you. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, and twelve..." "That's good, John. Now let me tell you to say the time. Now, look! I put the long hand on twelve and the short hand on one. That is one o'clock. If I put the short on two, that's two o'clock. Do you know?"

    "Yes, I do." John tells his mother. "Good. If I put the short hand on four, what's that?" his mother asks and really puts the short one on four. "Tea-time, Mum. And I am hungry."

    Today is Sunday. It's warm. It's four o'clock in the afternoon. Jack and Simon are at home. They are twin(双胞胎)brothers. They want to play basketball, so they take their basketball and a bag, and then go to the playground(操场).Jack puts the bag under a big tree and opens it, but he can't find his sports clothes(衣服).There're only Simon's. "Where are my sports clothes？"Jack asks Simon." Oh, I'm sorry," says Simon, "I forget to bring your clothes here."

    Doctor Seuss was born in 1904

    In 1954, Life magazine published a report about school children who could not read well. The report said many children's books were not interesting. Doctor Seuss strongly hoped to help children and decided to write books that were interesting and easy to read. He used words with the same ending sound, like fish and wish. He hadn't received training in art. Yet, he drew pictures for most of his books.

    By the middle 1950s, Doctor Seuss had become one of the best-loved and most successful children's book writers in the world. His books were very popular with young readers. They enjoyed the invented words and the pictures of unusual funny animals and plants.

    In 1957, Doctor Seuss wrote The Cat in the Hat. He used less than 230 words to write the book and even a six-year-old child was able to read it. It was a fun story and easy to read. Children loved it. Their parents loved it too. The success of The Cat in the Hat made him want to write more books with very few words for children. In 1960, he wrote a book using less than fifty words. The book was called Green Eggs and Ham.

    In 1984. Doctor Seuss won a Pulitzer Prize. He was honoured for education and enjoyment that his books provided for American children and their parents.

    Doctor Seuss died in 1991 at the age of 87. But his influence remains. Today his books are still very popular. Millions of his books have been sold worldwide. People say his books help change the way American children learn to read. Yet, his books are loved by people of all ages. Doctor Seuss once said, "I do not write for children. I write for people."

I arrived in Penang in Malaysia this morning with my {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. It was {#blank#}2{#/blank#} and hot, so we {#blank#}3{#/blank#} to go to the beach near our hotel. My sister and I tried paragliding. I felt like I was a bird. It was so exciting! For lunch, we had something very {#blank#}4{#/blank#}— Malaysian yellow noodles They were delicious! In the afternoon, we {#blank#}5{#/blank#} bicycles to Georgetown. There {#blank#}6{#/blank#}a lot of new buildings now, but many of the old buildings are still there. In Weld Quay, a {#blank#}7{#/blank#} old place in Georgetown, we{#blank#}8{#/blank#} the houses of the Chinese traders from 100 years ago. I{#blank#}9{#/blank#} what life was like here in the past. I really enjoyed {#blank#}10{#/blank#} around the town.
