人教新目标(Go for it)版2019-2020学年八年级上学期英语期末模拟卷三
The purpose of students who come to school is to study. But studying needs right ways. The following opinions are ways of studying.
The best time to read is morning. Because in the morning, the air is fresh and our minds are clear.
When we study, we must be patient(有耐心的). If we don't understand a text well, we must read it again. We should not read the next until we have learned the first one well.
When we are studying, we must put our hearts into the book. We cannot read absentmindedly(心不在焉),or we couldn't get anything from the book while we are reading.
We must always ask "why". If we can't understand well, write it down and ask our teachers or parents, brothers or friends, in any possible ways.
Though there are many ways for studying, however, the above mentioned will be helpful if we can keep them in heart.

John, a farmer, was riding his cart(运货马车)along the country road. He had to arrive at the market early so that he could sell his vegetables. It rained heavily the day before, so it was very difficult for the horse to move on in the mud(泥). {#blank#}1{#/blank#}
It was more difficult for the horse to move the cart. John climbed down from his seat and stood beside his cart.{#blank#}2{#/blank#} He felt really sad. But he didn't try to pull the wheels up by himself. Instead, he looked up at the sky and started shouting, "I am unlucky! {#blank#}3{#/blank#}"
After some time, an old man walked by. "Do you think you can move the cart by simply looking at it and shouting?" he asked. "Did you try to get the wheels out of the mud by yourself? {#blank#}4{#/blank#} Come on, put your shoulder(肩) to the wheels, and you will soon find the way out."
John did as the old man said.{#blank#}5{#/blank#} John learned his lesson. He thanked the man and went happily on his way.
