Mr Smith lived by the sea. He had a big family and he had to work hard, or  his wife and children would be{#blank#}1{#/blank#} . So he had to get up early every day. After breakfast he set out in a small boat. He always hoped to{#blank#}2{#/blank#} . 
     One morning the man got to a good place for fishing.  He threw a long rope with many hooks（钩子）into the water. He found it very{#blank#}3{#/blank#} and pulled the hooks out of the sea. He saw there were some gold chains（链子. He , of course, was very {#blank#}4{#/blank#} .

    Mr. Smith went on drawing his rope and didn't notice what was happening to his boat. It began to{#blank#}7{#/blank#} . As he was pulling the gold chains, the boat sank into the sea. He lost not only the gold chains ,but also {#blank#}8{#/blank#} !

    One cold and dark midnight, a young little girl, called Nannan, woke up to pass water (撒尿 ). She by {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(her) got up and down her bed, walked to the bedroom door and opened it.     The girl held out her little hands, saying, "Mum, blow some of your breath of courage to me." After her mother blew out two {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (mouthful) of breath into her cold hands, the little girl clenched her fists(握拳) {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(nervous), worried that the "breath of courage" would run {#blank#}7{#/blank#}.Then with her fists clenched, she walked out of the bedroom 68. {#blank#}8{#/blank#}/tə'wɔ:dz/ the bathroom without fear.

Her mother said to herself, "It will be nice 69.i{#blank#}9{#/blank#}someone can blow some kind of ‘breath' to me. Then I can hold it in my hands whenever I feel terrified or lost."
