David eats well every day. For breakfast, he has bread, eggs and milk. At school, he has vegetables and rice for lunch. After lunch, he eats an apple. In the evening, he has chicken and fruit salad at home. David dislikes milk, but Mom says it is healthy. So he drinks it every day. After eight in the evening, he doesn't have food. Every day, David does some sports to be healthy. He plays tennis in the morning and plays basketball after school.

    Good morning, boys and girl. Today I'll talk about going online.

    We know that there are too many net bars around us. The Internet can make our lives interesting and enjoyable. Many of us like going online very much because we can learn how to use the computer. We can learn English and read some newspapers and magazines to know more information around us. It can make us clever in playing computer games. Also we can send e-mails to our friends quickly. It can help us contact(联络，联系) people from all over the world.

    But some students spend too much time in playing computer games and some stay in the net bars all day and all night. Some girls even get to have boyfriends or some boys get to have girlfriends online. They write too many letters to each other. It takes them too much time to chat online so they do worse in their lessons and they don't study well any more.

    I think we mustn't get online when it is time for us to study. We can do it in summer or winter holidays. I think we should get online with our teachers or parents.

    At the same time, if we have lots of free time, we can do some activities after class. We usually have activities from 4：50 to 5：50 in the afternoon . You can play basket ball or football. We also have some interest groups in school, such as drawing, singing and dancing. We can go to the English corner on Monday afternoon. We hope we can spend more time on our subjects or on such activities that we can learn a lot from and less time on the Internet.

    English homework may be boring for many students. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Our English teacher, Mrs. Lin, asked us to write an English letter to ourselves in the future. Mrs. Lin said she got the idea from Steve Jobs' time capsule (时光胶囊). In 1983, Jobs buried his time capsule. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}That was 30 years later. So what will you write about to your future self? Everyone was surprised and whispered (窃窃私语) about it.

    " {#blank#}3{#/blank#} And write about how you will make your dream come true. Then you can bury the letter and wait for 20 years to open it again," Mrs. Lin told us.

    It was really interesting! {#blank#}4{#/blank#} Some would like to sing songs and become stars. In my letter, I wrote "I hope to be a doctor." I want to cure (治愈) people and I won't ask for much money, just like my dad.  {#blank#}5{#/blank#} For example I would read more books and learn two foreign languages in my twenties.

    Can we realize our dreams? Let's wait and see!

⑶{#blank#}3{#/blank#} Coal and natural gas are the most common sources of energy that can be turned into electricity. The burning of these things is a main cause in world air pollution. Reducing your reliance(依赖）on electricity is a great way to play a part in saving the planet.

⑸{#blank#}5{#/blank#} You don't have to travel far to get what you need. Making smart choices about where your food, clothes and other products come from can help make a difference to the environment.

    Do you often think of life in the future？Will we study at home？Will we have robots？Will we fly to the moon easily？Everyone may have his or her views about that. Life in the future will be very different from life today. Between then and now many changes will take place, but what will the changes be?

    There will be changes in our food. Maybe no one will eat meat. Instead, people will eat more fruit and vegetables. People will stay away from junk food. Maybe people will be healthier.

    Computers will be small and useful. Maybe we will even put the computer into our pockets(口袋). There will be at least two computers in every home. And computer studies will be one of the most important subjects at school.

    Work in the future will be different, too. Dangerous and hard work can be done by robots. People will work fewer hours than they do now. And they will have more free time for sports, watching TV and traveling.

Life in the future
