    Nowadays bike﹣sharing has been very popular in China．Mobike （摩拜单车） is one of the market leaders in the hike﹣sharing business．

What is Mobike？

    Mobike was founded in January，2015．It is supported by Tencent （腾讯）．People in many cities，such as Beijing，Guangzhou，Jinan as well as Shanghai，have a chance of using the app （软件）．The total number of Mobike app users is larger than that of any other bike﹣sharing app users．

Who uses Mobike？

    According to a survey，53.23% of the Mobike users are men，while 46.77% are women.73 Mobike is not only popular with young people，but also wins the hearts of the old． It shows that retired men traveled the longest distances （距离） by shared bikes．

Why do people use Mobike？

    Chinese people use Mobike for different reasons．Users can rent （租借） a bike at a low price，usually about one yuan an hour．It also offers people a better choice for short journeys in cities，especially when people can't find a bus or the underground to take．What's more，it's helpful in traffic．And the most important is that it can help improve the environment．

    One day last November, Liz Douglas went shopping. She spent hours at the supermarket. After she paid for all the things she bought, she went back to her car and put the shopping bags on the back seat (后座) of the car. Then she started to drive home.

    Ten minutes later, it began to rain heavily. Soon, Liz found it hard to see the road clearly. There was a lot of water on the road, so she drove slowly. Although Liz was an experienced driver, she felt afraid.

    突然，Liz看见她前面的一棵树并试图停车。But it was too late. Liz closed her eyes. She hoped that the airbags (气囊) in the car would work when the car hit the tree. Unluckily, they didn't.

    However, Liz was lucky. When the car hit the tree, a bag of bread flew out of one of the shopping bags. The car turned over, and the bread landed between Liz' s head and the roof(顶部) of the car. It stopped her head from hitting the roof of the car.

    About half an hour later, firefighters (消防队员) helped Liz get out of the car. They sent her to the hospital, but she went home soon because she didn't get hurt badly. Her head was free and she only had a few cuts. Liz's son went to get the things Liz bought from the car and gave the bag of bread to her. She was going to keep it as a souvenir (纪念品) because it brought her good luck.

    There are four seasons in a year. They are spring, summer, autumn and winter. Spring is from March to May. Summer is from June to August. Autumn is from September to November. Winter is from December to the next February. We wear different clothes in different seasons. In spring, we wear thick sweaters and skirts. We like spring because spring is colourful. In summer we wear cool clothing. It's cool in autumn. We wear T-­shirts and skirts.

    There are twelve months in a year. Each month has thirty or thirty­one days. February has 28 or 29 days. There are seven days in a week. They are Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

    Every month, junior high schools in China choose one hero of the month. This person is a hero because he or she has done something to help protect animals in danger. Huang Jing decided to write a letter to the President of China.

Dear Mr President.

    I have been doing a project at school recently about animals in danger. I think the situation all over the world is really terrible. I am writing to you to suggest what China should do to help protect animals more.

    I know that there are nearly 2, 000 nature reserves in China, which is good. I live in Beijing and there are about 30 reserves outside the city. We visited one of them last month to sec for ourselves.

    I feel so sorry for the giant panda. It's one of the most popular animals in the world and a real symbol of China. We learned that pandas mainly live on bamboo, and that a panda can eat half its body weight of bamboo in 24 hours！That's a lot of bamboo. I think we should try to do more to stop cutting down forests. Pandas are already a rare animal and it would be so sad if they became extinct(灭绝)forever.

    The other animal we should try to protect more is the Chinese alligator(场子努). These creatures live in some parts of eastern China. These beautiful animals live in freshwater rivers and lakes but the water in some places isn't clean enough for them to live in. It's really dirty in fact. The government should stop factories polluting the lakes and rivers.

    If we protect these beautiful animals in China, more foreigners may wish to visit China to see them. They could be an important tourist attraction. It would be good if more people came to visit our beautiful country, especially to see the quieter areas in the country. Now most visitors just see the cities.

    I hope you will encourage more people to think about such an important subject.
