Once upon a time, there was a tree which wanted to become a treasure box. One day, a farmer cut it down and sold it to a carpenter(木匠). The tree was happy because he thought the carpenter would make it into a treasure box.

    To its surprise, the carpenter made it into a feed box for animals. The tree felt very disappointed because that was not its dream. Several years later, the feed box was thrown away. Someone picked it up and placed it into an old temple. The tree forgot its dream little by little.

    One day, a couple came to the temple. The woman gave birth to a baby boy. There wasn't a bed in the temple. So they placed the baby in the feed box. They loved him and regarded him as their treasure. The tree suddenly realized that it became a real "treasure box" at that time.

    Sometimes you may think your dream will not come true. Don't forget your dream. It may be realized in another new way.

    Dawn Loggins of Lawndale, N.C. is on her way to Harvard, one of the eight world-famous universities in the eastern US. Nobody encouraged her to study or paid for her special classes. This girl created her own future.

    The teen was abandoned by her family last summer, when her parents and two sisters moved to Tennessee. She found herself homeless and had to spend the night on friend's sofas.

    The school bus driver learned about Dawn's situation and invited Dawn to move in with her family. Soon, Dawn had a job at Burns High School. She worked from 6 a.m. to 7:40 a.m. before the first school bell rang. she swept floors and picked up trash again in the afternoons, before diving(跳水)into her studies in the evenings.

    Dawn's hard work paid off, she finished school with a 3.9 GPA and scored 2,110 on the SAT.

    "There were times when I felt like it would be easiest if I gave up," the 18-year-old said." But it was never in me to give up, because I realized that I was never going to be successful unless I got an education."

    Even before Dawn's family left her, she led a difficult life. Her family was poor and cups of noodles were often the only food. Dawn "studied by candlelight" because her parents couldn't afford to pay the electricity bill(电费).

    Dawn has now reconnected with her family. They are proud of her accomplishments(成就) and are attending her high school graduation.

    Once Mr. King had a cat, and he loved it very much. He called it" sky", because he thought "sky" was the strongest name in the world.

    One day he had a meal at a restaurant with his cat.

    He met his old friend. He told him about his lovely cat and its name. His friend said, " How foolish you are！Sky is not the strongest thing in the world. My cat is called' cloud' because cloud is stronger than sky." After hearing this, Mr. King called his cat "wind" because he thought wind was stronger than cloud.

    After a few days he suddenly（突然）thought that" wall" was stronger than wind. And" mouse（老鼠）" was stronger than wall. So he went to his friend to ask for an idea. His friend said. "Don't you think cat is stronger than mouse?" "Yes, but."

    The man thought and thought and then decided his cat's name had better be" cat" because a mouse was always afraid of a cat.
