      I need some advice on how to make friends! I have just moved to a new city. I am 13. I don't know anybody here and I want to make some friends. What's the best way? Where can I meet people?

     There are lots of things you can do. First, you can ride your bike in your neighbourhood and try to find some kids. When you find some, you can go up and talk to them. You should also let your parents know that you want to make friends because they can help you. Maybe you can ask your parents to take you to the library or some places where there are lots of kids. You could try joining an art class or a sports club. These are all great ways to meet people. You can also try making friends at churches (教堂) if you go to churches on Sundays. Try to be active wherever you are, but just be yourself and don't try so hard. It takes time and patience. I hope you will find a best friend soon!

    Gordon stands in the hallway．No one is there．He looks at his watch．It's 8：10 am．He is 10 minutes late for class．He has to go to the music room, but he doesn't know where it is．

    He knows the music room isn't on the first floor．His classroom is on the first floor．So Gordon goes up the stairs(楼梯)．He knows he has to walk quickly.The teacher will be worried(担心的)．

    "Sure．"the teacher says．"It's on the third floor．Go up the stairs and turn left．On your right．You'll see a door like this one．That is the music room．"

    Gordon thanks her and goes up the stairs．Gordon' s class teacher,Mr Lewis，is outside the music room．

    "There you are!"Mr Lewis says．"Your music teacher Mr Green asks me to find you．"

    Gordon smiles．"I find you first!"

    Ostriches don't actually put their head in the ground as many cartoons like to show. What they really do is to lie down and put their head and neck flat on the ground to hide. From a distance all you can see is their body, so it appears as if they have put their head in a hole in the ground. Ostriches can not only kick with powerful feet, they are also armed with 4 inch long claws（爪）on their feet.

    One day, the father of a very rich family took his son on a trip to the countryside. He wanted to show his son that how poor people there were. They spent a few days and nights on the farm. After they came back from their trip, the father asked his son, "How did you like our trip?"

    "It was great, Dad."

    "Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked.

    "Oh yeah," said the son.

    "So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father.

    "I see that we have one dog and they have four. We have beautiful lights in our garden, and they have the stars at night.     Choose your parks carefully. You don't want to be bored at an amusement park. If you're happy at a theme park, you will have the best time ever. You may want to ask your friends' opinion and facts about the park.

    Pack up stuff you might need on your trip. Also, you might want suntan lotion if it gets too sunny.  Make sure you have shoes that are comfortable. Theme parks are usually spread out all over the place, and they are huge.
