Our spiritual intelligence quotient, SQ (精神智商)helps us understand ourselves and live fuller, happier lives.
While we're all born with SQ, most of us even don't know that we have it. Luckily, you don't have to sign up for classes to learn how to enhance(加强) your SQ. Here are some simple steps that can lead you to this new level of understanding:
Sit Quietly. The step of developing SQ begins in solitude (独处) and silence. To tune in to its whisper, you have to keep away from your busy, noisy, complicated life and make yourself do nothing at all. At home, for example, shut the door of your bedroom, take a few deep breaths and let them out very, very slowly.
Step Outside. For many people, nature makes their spirit free. Go outside to watch a beautiful sunset. Follow the flight of a bird; watch clouds floating overhead.
Find An Activity You Enjoy. It's important to find a hobby that helps you tune in to your spirit. Garden, walk or jog, arrange flowers, listen to music that touches your soul.
Ask Questions Of Yourself. Some people use their thoughtful time to focus on scriptures (经文). Others ask open-ended (无确定答案的) questions, such as “What am I feeling? What are my choices?”But don't expect an answer to arrive through some super-natural form of e-mail. Later that day you'll suddenly find yourself thinking about a problem from a perspective (角度) you never considered before.
Trust Your Spirit. While most of us rely on gut feelings (直觉) to warn us of danger, SQ usually nudges (渐渐推动) us, not away from, but toward some action that will lead to a greater good.

(1)、To enhance your SQ, you should first _______________.

A、stand loneliness and silence B、make your life simpler and less busy C、give up the daily things in your life D、listen more to your whisper
(2)、The underlined phrase “tune in to your spirit” in the fifth paragraph probably means ________________.

A、get your spirit relaxed B、keep up your spirit C、listen to your spirit D、change your spirit
(3)、What will happen after people ask questions of themselves?

A、People will lead to a greater good. B、People will think about a problem in a different way. C、People will expect answers through e-mails. D、People will keep away from their busy life.
(4)、What is the best title for the passage?

A、Advantages and disadvantages of SQ B、The relationship between your SQ and you C、What SQ is and in what ways it can be improved D、What SQ is and in what ways you can make your life easier

Rubbish is a major kind of environmental pollution. Each person produces about 2kg of rubbish a day. We are making waste products faster than nature can break them down. And we are using up resources(资源)faster than they can he replaced(取代).

This adds up to trouble for the environment. Where does all that rubbish go? What can be done to help dispose of(处理)rubbish? How can we make less rubbish?

Rubbish isn't just the smelly rotting fruits, vegetables or meat that we throw away(抛弃) in our homes Those are only a small part of all tile stuff we throw away. We create other kinds of waste, in construction, mining and in our factories.

Did you ever wonder what happens to your rubbish? Most is burned(燃烧)or buried in landfills(垃圾填埋场). Less than a quarter of our waste is recycled(回收).

With a population of 1.3 billion(十亿), rubbish is a big problem for China. Chinese city create around 148 million tons of rubbish every year. The amount is growing at around 10 percent each year.

Once we used about 3 billion plastic shopping bags everyday in China. The result was a great waste of resources and serious pollution. So we did something about that. Now we use more cloth bags and shopping baskets when we shop.

In the coming years China will build waste-to-energy plants in cities to clean up the rubbish. But there's a lot more that needs to be done. And you can play a role.

A new camera made by a company named Netatmo has facial recognition software(面部识别软件). It can tell parents at work that their children have returned from school, or that a package has been taken to their home. It can also tell them if a stranger has entered their home.

Janina Mattausch is the product marketing manager for Netatmo.

"The common security(安全)camera at present are not that smart. They can tell if something is moving but they don't necessarily know if it's a human being or, ah, if it's your kids. They don't know the difference, so they will warn you all the time."

When family members enter a home, the new camera "recognizes(识别)" them and sends information to the owner's smartphone. The owner can choose to see the video then or later. But if an unknown person enters a home, the camera will send the warning that will cause an alarm to sound on the owner's smartphone.

That is what happened recently to an owner of the smart camera named Damien, He lives in Paris.

"On a Friday I was at work, attending(出席) a big monthly meeting when my phone warned. At first I told myself, 'Oh, it must be a mistake, maybe I have to set the system again.' But the notice on my phone was telling me that there was a movement in my flat and also a face that the software did not recognize."

He watched the video and was very surprised by what he saw. "I was watching it live on video. So I felt totally unbelievable and frozen. I asked a workmate to take me back home as fast as possible and I called the police on the way."

With the help of the video, the police found the intruder(闯A者) later that day.

Are you an"I"person or an"E"person?People have talked about it a lot online these days. The ideas come from a popular personality(性格) test called MBTI. They test the personality in eight ways. Each way uses a letter to show the meaning. After the test each person will get a four﹣letter result to show the personality. In all, there are sixteen kinds of personality in the test.

Why do people want to take the MBTI test? Here are the survey results from three people by Life Week magazine.

"People want to learn about themselves and others, "Guo Yongyu, an expert said. "When they know themselves and others better

Gao Yanyi, a middle school student from Shanxi, thinks that the MBTI test can help her find friends with similar MBTI results. She adds

Ma Ruina, from Beijing No. 4 Middle school, took the test once. He doesn't want to use it in his life again. It made him feel like it's limiting(限制), "everyone is different, and it's not right to put people into simple groups. "He says.

The MBTI personality test may show something you don't know about yourself and can even be a fun ice﹣breaking question when meeting new friends. But that's all it is —for fun. Knowing other's MBTI result doesn't mean you really know this person. And those four letters of yours don't decide who you are.
