Mr. White lived in the country. One day, he bought a second-class train ticket and went to London to buy something. All the seats in the second-class carriages had been taken when Mr. White got on the train. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

    Half an hour later, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} So he went into one of them and took an empty seat. The other four men seemed to be rich people because they all wore fine clothes. But just before the train started, a different kind of person jumped in and sat down.{#blank#}3{#/blank#} It was clear that he was very poor.

    Everyone in the carriage looked unhappy with the young man. Mr. White thought that he would not be the only person to pay more. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}If so, he was wrong. For when the train had traveled an hour, the door opened and the ticket-collector came into the carriage. Of course, Mr. White had to pay more money for his ticket. But to his great surprise, one by one each of the four men held out a second-class ticket. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} He was the only man who had the first-class ticket in the carriage.

    "Mom! Get my annoying(令人讨厌的)brother off me," I shouted. I woke up because of my brother. It happens almost every day. I got out of bed and put on my clothes hurriedly. Then I realized a huge problem—it was the first day of high school! It meant I had to go to the same school as my brother. But I didn't want to go there. At that exact moment, a thought came into my mind. I had never thought of it before.

    I had to go to school in 30 minutes. I had to eat, pack and think of a plan to get my brother embarrassed(尴尬).20 minutes later, I got my bag and slowly walked out of my bedroom. I saw my mom taking the school uniform downstairs and in exactly a second I had a great plan. I quickly ran after my mom and followed her downstairs. Like a cat I hid behind a couch, seeing her put the uniform on the couch and make her way back upstairs. I only had one chance. I quickly wrote something that would make my brother embarrassed on the back of a shirt as my brother ran downstairs. We put on out clothes right away and we wore the same size. It was quite a cold day, so I took a jacket and put it on.

    A couple of minutes later, we were in the car and were almost at school. I was secretly waiting for my great plan to happen. I got out of the car and ran to my classroom. I unpacked and decided to take off my jacket, because the day was heating up. Once I took my jacket off, everyone started laughing. I had no idea why everyone was laughing until suddenly I realized what had happened.

    In order to learn how the students in our school spend money, we made a survey by asking them some questions. First, we asked them how much money they spent last month. And then we asked how much money they spent on snacks, books, movies, computer games, phones, transportation and other things last month. Our maths teacher helped us make a graph（图表） of their answers as follows.

    In our school, each student spent about{#blank#}1{#/blank#} yuan on average（平均）last month. According to the graph made by our{#blank#}2{#/blank#} teacher, we know how much money the students spent on different things in our school. As the graph shows, they spent most on{#blank#}3{#/blank#} , covering 22% of all. It was followed by computer games and movies. Each of them was {#blank#}4{#/blank#}  . But to our surprise, he students spent {#blank#}5{#/blank#} on books, only 6%.

    A bottle of water may not seem much to you, but thousands of bottles will be of great help for people who live in drought-hit areas in China.

    Since last autumn, there has been very little rain in Southwest China. Some places, especially in Yunnan, Guangxi, Sichuan and Guizhou, have experienced a serious drought. Crops died, the land cracked(裂开) and wells and rivers died up. More than 20 million people are having difficulty finding safe drinking water.

    After learning about the drought, many people around the country helped by giving water, money and other things.

    The serious drought has also made students realize the importance of saving water. Students from Nanshan Middle School in Huizhou, Guangdong, went on to the street to tell people to take part in water-saving activities.

    "I've heard that some children in drought-hit areas don't have enough drinking water. I feel really sad about that," said one student. "I decided to take a shower twice a week instead of every day to save water." He said.

    A group of people organized a reading party in Fujian province, on March 29. More than40 reading lovers gathered together.

    "It is the first time to organize a reading party like this, and I hope more reading lovers can join us and share the joy of reading." said one of the organizers.

    They set up a chat group on mobile messenger app We Chat, and anyone can apply to be member of the group through the platform(平台Club members are encouraged to read at home and share their reading experiences at reading parties.
