任务型阅读

A youth soccer coach, Hugo Grejada, director of Pro Youth Soccer academy in Chester, New York, shares some tips to help you improve your soccer skills.

Start with basic drills. "Go outdoors, get a ball, and keep it close to your feet," Grejada says, "If you have a backyard, work on shooting."

"It's a good way of building skills without having the pressure of games. Choose camps that emphasize building skills and go to one of those. There are plenty of camps that begin right after school ends."

Don't forget to stretch. Then do a series of stretches to loosen up your muscles. Don't forget to take a drink of water before you even step on the field. "Water is important especially in summer." Grejada says.

Watch the World Cup. Grejada tells his athletes to watch as many games as they can. Then, you should try to bring some of their moves into your own game. "Pick up something that you like and practice it." Grejada says.

Keep practicing. Practice may not seem like the most fun part playing soccer. Look for ways to make practice fun by adding some competition to simple drills, and don't be discouraged if it takes time to master new skills. "If someone was struggling to improve, I would tell him to keep practicing, keep trying. Practice makes perfect."

A. Sign up for a soccer camp.

B. Reduce the pressure of games.

C. However, it's the best way to develop skills.

D. Study how the best players move with the ball.

E. A game is sometimes used as an educational tool.

F. That will help improve your ability to run with the ball close to you.

G. Before each game or practice, start with a proper ten-minute warm-up.

Have you ever wondered how the trainers at Sea World get the 19,000-pound whale to jump 22 feet out of water and perform tricks? They get that whale to go over a rope farther out of the water than most of us can imagine. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}.

So how do the trainers at Sea World do it? The first thing they do is reinforce(强化) the behavior that they want repeated — in this case, to get the whale to go over the rope.{#blank#}2{#/blank#}, in a position where the whale can't help but do what's expected of it. Every time the whale goes over the rope, it's given positive reinforcement and gets fed with fish. But what happened when the whale goes under the rope? Nothing — no criticism, no warning and no feedback. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}.

Positive reinforcement is the key of that simple principle that produces such splendid results. And as the whale begins to go over the rope more often than under, the trainers begin to raise the rope. It must be raised slowly enough so that the whale doesn't starve.

{#blank#}4{#/blank#}. Make a big deal out of the good and little stuff that we want consistently. Secondly, under-criticize. People know they need help when they mess up. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}, people will not forget the event and usually will not repeat it.

So we need to set up the circumstances so that people can't fail. Over-celebrate, under-criticize…and know how far to raise the rope.

I think you had better have a general idea of who you might meet or the questions some people may ask you. You may prepare answers to some awkward questions. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} Think of ways you might be comfortable answering questions, and have some basic answers in your head.

    My family and I recently attended a holiday event. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}However, because I knew several people who would most likely be attending the event, I was able to take some time to think about how I wanted to answer the questions they could ask me. This doesn't mean that I spent the days before the party memorizing answers and recited the answers to the questions like a robot. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}

When you understand your motivations, you'll be in a better position to choose the option that is right for you.

    Work alongside the local community

Often times, travelers volunteer in isolation(隔离) from the local community in which they are working in. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} This enables you to ensure you are committing to a project that promotes long term and sustainable change.

A volunteer trip is just the beginning
