The word "hobby" is an interesting word. Every person has one thing he or she likes to do for fun. Some people like to collect things like stamps or story books. Others like to play football or go window shopping where you can look at many beautiful things without buying them.

    I have many hobbies I do for fun. I sometimes play golf with my sons. I play tennis with all the family. I like to collect music books. I also collect musical instruments from China like the erhu, the dizi, the xiao, the suona, and the pipa. These are the instruments of China which cannot be found in America.

    My favourite hobby is fishing. I like to go and see my brother in the state of Alaska where fishing is wonderful. The two of us take a boat and go to a small river where we fish for salmon, the American most famous fish.

    Kim is a Canadian boy. Now he is calling his friend Jenny. Jenny lives in London.

    Kim asks，“（A)How's it going?”

    “Great！”says Jenny.

    “（B)How is the weather there?”asks Kim.

    “Terrible! It's foggy(有雾的) and cold. Now I am studying in my house because the fog is very thick(浓密的）and we can't go to school.” answers Jenny and she asks “How's the weather in Toronto?”

    “It's sunny and warm.(C)我正在和奶奶散步。My brother is (D) playing basketball with his friends.

    “Are your parents at home?” asks Jenny.

    “Yes.” answers Kim.

    “(E)_________？”Jenny asks.

    “Oh，my mother is cooking and my father is watching the Chinese movie In 1942 on TV.”answers Kim.

    In August, 2012, I visited London with my husband(丈夫) and our two sons Sam and Eric. We spent four days visiting some interesting places and enjoyed ourselves. The fifth day, I wanted to relax at the hotel. But the children didn't like it. So I carefully thought about how we would spend the last day. I read a passage about HMS Belfast in a magazine. In fact, I was not very interested in visiting a warship(战舰), but my sons and their dad liked it. So we decided to go there.

    The weather was sunny that day. We left our hotel at 8：00 a.m. It took us about two hours to get to HMS Belfast. Children under 16 were free of charge(免费)．The price of the ticket for an adult (成年人) was ￡14.The warship was very large. We took some photos there. Sam was interested in everything on it and said it was the most interesting place in London.

    Volunteering is fun and rewarding(有益的), but if you want to be a good volunteer, you need to learn more.{#blank#}1{#/blank#}

    Be well-trained. Know what you're doing as a volunteer. If you need to learn about your job. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}If you're good at your job, it will be easier to help others.
