    I'm sorry to occupy your precious time, but

    We lived not far from the sea, but I had never been allowed by my parents to play in the sea water.     I encountered God the summer I was five. My father had finally grown too sick to get out of bed, so the heat and nervous tension in the air inside the house made it impossible to breathe.
