Our environment is getting{#blank#}1{#/blank#} than before. Now more and more people realize that we should do something to help the Earth. Here are the things we can do to help the Earth: We can recycle glass, metal and paper. We shouldn't throw{#blank#}2{#/blank#} in the garbage can（垃圾箱）! We can{#blank#}3{#/blank#} instead of driving cars! We should try to{#blank#}4{#/blank#}  short showers and turn off all the{#blank#}5{#/blank#} and the TV when we leave the room. All of these things will help the Earth.

If you are a teenager and you have lost interest in reading or never like it so much, this is for you. Here is some   {#blank#}1{#/blank#}  on finding your favorite books:
★ Ask around. Ask your   {#blank#}2{#/blank#}  or favorite teachers to suggest books they enjoy.
★ Go to the library. Don't be shy about it. You can ask a librarian(图书管理员) a question {#blank#}3{#/blank#}  this: Do you have any books  {#blank#}4{#/blank#}  rock music?
★ Try a few pages. If a book doesn't interest you after you read a few pages, leave it and try another, until you find an  {#blank#}5{#/blank#} one.
★ Read at your own pace(速度). Reading isn't a test. So when you read  {#blank#}6{#/blank#} , you can have a look at words here and there and think. If you   {#blank#}7{#/blank#}  interested in it, you'll read to the end quickly. Then you can read another one.
★ Let one good thing lead to another. When you read something that  {#blank#}8{#/blank#}  interests you, you may be sorry when you  {#blank#}9{#/blank#}  it. Because the end is never really the end for a person who reads. You can always  {#blank#}10{#/blank#}  another book, and another, and another.

    I'm thinking about what I {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (do) this summer. Maybe I'll get a job. If I get a job, I'll have enough money {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (buy) some new things. Maybe I'll buy some new clothes. I'd like to have some new dresses when I start school again in September. Or I {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (buy) some books or some music CDs. I really love jazz. I can buy some more CDs for my jazz {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (collect). Or I can use the money to pay for tennis lessons. I play tennis pretty well, but I'd like to learn to play it {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (well). Or maybe I can use the money to pay for the piano lessons. I'd like {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (learn) to play it.

If I {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (not get) a job this summer, I'll visit my grandparents in San Francisco. They live in a beautiful old house near the beach. That will be fun. My grandparents are always very nice to me. They'll let me {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (sleep) late. I won't have to get up before 10 o'clock every day. I'll eat delicious food because my grandmother is an excellent cook. She always {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (cook) my favorite food. I'll also go to the beach with {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (they). I like swimming in the sea.

    On March 22nd, my class went to Valley to plant tree. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} it began to rain when we got there The rain got there heavier and heavier  so we {#blank#}2{#/blank#}in a tent, After the rain stopped We started to walk up the {#blank#}3{#/blank#}

    We took some spades and saplings（锹和幼树） with us They were so heavy that we couldn't walk very fast Finally, we arrived at the top A farmer {#blank#}4{#/blank#} us how to plant trees: dig a hole, put a sapling in the hole and make it stand straight, cover

 its root (根) with soil (泥土) ... I could't wait to try, {#blank#}5{#/blank#}I picked up a spade and started working

    It wasn't such an easy job as it might look like, because the spade was very heavy. It {#blank#}6{#/blank#} me about 15 minutes to finish planting the first tree. The following ones were much {#blank#}7{#/blank#} because I was becoming more  and more  experienced When I finished the eighth one, the rain started {#blank#}8{#/blank#} We kept on working  in raincoats.

    Finally, we finished planting all the trees. We were very happy though we were {#blank#}9{#/blank#}and hungry! Then we went down the hill and back to the tent. The dinner was ready. We had chicken, peppers, pancakes, etc. They were very delicious.

    After dinner, the farmer gave us some {#blank#}10{#/blank#}. We said thanks and went back home.

    "Olyvia, love is simple. You don't have to do much to make someone happy. "That was what my mother said to me when I was a child. Over a year ago, I had a chance. My good friend Kaylee told me about her t{#blank#}1{#/blank#} to a small town called Gary, and how it was a life-changing experience. I made up my mind to go there myself.

    When I told my parents about the decision, they didn't a{#blank#}2{#/blank#} at first. They said I didn't know much about the place. They were worried that it was not s{#blank#}3{#/blank#} for me to go there. Thankfully, after I explained my plan to them in detail, they said yes.

    When our group arrived in Gary, I noticed how different the town was from where I lived. There were few stores or restaurants in the town; most had closed. So you would be very l{#blank#}4{#/blank#} if you could find a place to buy food or drinks. Houses were built on small hills. Many of them had broken doors or windows. My job was to help the local people to r{#blank#}5{#/blank#} houses.The work days were long and hot, but it was really good to see the houses taking on a new look day by day.

    The children there were also different. They seemed to enjoy every moment in life though they were poor. The smallest things would make these kids happy. I couldn't find words to describe their j{#blank#}6{#/blank#} when they received an ice-cream, a ball or even a kiss. The community was like a big family. Everyone knew each other and was there when someone needed help.

    I am so glad that I had this unforgetable experience. I truly learned the m{#blank#}7{#/blank#} of what my mother said. You don't need to do much to make a difference to others' lives.

    I have a good {#blank#}1{#/blank#} at school. She is a girl. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} name is Lucy. We are in the same grade. But we are not in the same class. Lucy's brother is a student, {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} name is Tom. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} is a good boy. He is fifteen.
