I recently heard a story about a famous scientist. Because of his great achievements, he was thought to be more creative than the common person. When he {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (ask) why he was able to do this, he gave the answer. It all came from an experience with his mother when he was about three years old. “I{#blank#}2{#/blank#} (try) to get a bottle of milk from the fridge when I lost the bottle and it fell, spilling（溢出）the milk all over the floor—a sea of milk! I was frightened and I didn't know what to do!” he said.

 His mother heard the noise and got into the kitchen. “I{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (consider) how to explain all this to you, mom.” he said. Instead of {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (punish) him, she said, “Robert, what a great mess you have made! I {#blank#}5{#/blank#}  (not see) such a huge sea of milk before! Well, since the milk has already been spilled, would you like {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (play) in the milk for a while? We {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (clean) it up after that.” Then, he did so. After a few minutes, his mother said, “You know, Robert, whenever you{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (make) a mess like this, finally you have to clean it up.” He used a sponge （海绵）and together they cleaned up the spilled milk.

 His mother then said, “You know, we {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (fail) in how to successfully carry a big milk bottle with two tiny hands just now. Let's go out in the yard and fill the bottle with water to see if you{#blank#}10{#/blank#} (discover) a way to carry it.” Then the little boy learned that if he grasped(抓紧) the bottle at the top with both hands, he could carry it without dropping it.

    The Congo River(刚果河) is a famous river in Africa. The Congo River gets its {#blank#}1{#/blank#} from the Kingdom of Kongo. It is an {#blank#}2{#/blank#} country on the left bank(河岸) of the river.

    Lang Lang was born in Shenyang, 1982. He is a {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(著名的) pianist now. When he was only three years old, he {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(显示) his talent in playing the piano.     I like reading in my free time．I've read all kinds of books which are {#blank#}1{#/blank#} by many famous writers from all over the world．But I like a Chinese writer {#blank#}2{#/blank#}．His name is Xu Zhimo．

To pollute mean to make things dirty. Pollution comes {#blank#}4{#/blank#} many ways. We see it, smell it, drink it and even hear it.

    Air pollution is still the most serious. It's bad to all living things in the world, but it is not the {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (bad) one kind of pollution. Water pollution kills our fish and pollutes our drinking water. Noise pollution makes us become angry more {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (easy).

    Pollution by SO₂ is really the most dangerous problem of air pollution. It is {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (cause) by heavy traffic. It is true that {#blank#}8{#/blank#} there are fewer people driving, there will be less air pollution.

    The earth is {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (we) home. We must take care of it. That means {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (keep) the land water and air clean. And we must take care of the rise in pollution at the same time.
