Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was born on February 27, 1807 in Portland, Maine. His father, Stephen, was a lawyer, so Henry was born into a rich family. Henry began 1 at age three. By the time he was six he was the smartest boy in the school. He was very good at spelling and arithmetic. But Henry loved to write and 2 became very skilled in it. Henry's father wanted him to become a lawyer, but after Henry 3 from Bowdoin College in Maine at the age of 19, he dreamed of becoming a(n) 4 . Henry wanted to travel to Europe to study. He followed that 5 , and later returned to Bowdoin to become a professor at age 22.

Dora Kellert was the school's spelling bee champion, winner of the reading contest at the public library three summers in a row and the playground grand champion in chess. She was a straight-A student.

Though Dora was talented, she was no good at sports. She could not figure out in which direction to kick the soccer ball. She was no good at baseball or basketball either. It wasn't until last year, when she was eleven years old, that she learned how to ride a bike. And even then she had to use training wheels.

"I'll never be good at sports," she thought one day as she lay on her bed staring at the shelf her father had made to hold her trophies (奖杯). "How I wish I could win something, anything, even marbles (弹珠)."

At the word "marbles," she sat up, "That's it. Maybe I could be good at playing marbles." She jumped out of bed and found a can full of her brother's marbles. "Yes," she thought. "I could play marbles, and marbles is a sport." At that moment she realized that she had only three weeks to practice. The playground championship was coming up. She had a lot to do.

To strengthen her wrists (腕关节), she decided to do twenty push-ups on her fingertips, five at a time. By the end of the first set she was breathing hard. She did one more set and decided that was enough push-ups for the first day. She squeezed (握) a rubber eraser one hundred times, hoping it would strengthen her thumb (大拇指). This seemed to work because the next day her thumb was painful. She could hardly hold a marble in her hand, so Dora rested that day and listened to her brother's tips on how to shoot.

After school the next day she practiced three hours straight. After practice, she squeezed the eraser for an hour. Practice, practice, practice. Squeeze, squeeze, squeeze. Dora got better and even beat her brother for the first time.

It's 1:30 am in Kenya's populated north, and 50 people are lying on their backs on the shore of a dried-up river, staring up at the night sky. These stargazers have travelled 250 miles to Samburu to witness the Perseid meteor shower(英仙座流星雨). They are not disappointed: Every few minutes, arrows of light shoot across the sky like silent fireworks.

The Star Safari is organised by a Kenyan astronomer, Susan Murabana, who has brought a 50 kg,170 cm-long telescope to allow the group to view Mars and deep-sky objects. But here in Samburu, where light pollution is minimal, the Perseid meteors—visible with the naked eye (裸眼)—steal the show.

Every two months, Murabana and her husband load their telescope on to the roof of their 4×4 and set off to rural communities, where they give up to 300 children a chance to view the planets and learn about constellations (星座) and the basics of astrophysics. They primarily targets schools in remote areas because of her mission to give girls an opportunity that she wishes had been available to her.

"When I started this work, I didn't see people who looked like me. I was a lone ranger and I wanted to change that." says Murabana.

"There is a common misconception in Kenya that astronomy in general is hard, boring, and only for boys," she adds. "I'd like to teach young girls that astronomy is neither of these things and that they, too, can become astronomers," says Murabana.

Murabana's passion for astronomy began in her early 20s when her uncle invited her to join a similar outreach session organized by the Cosmos Education. "That was a gamechanger. If an outreach group had come to me when I was a young teenager, my attitude towards a career in astronomy would have been positive. I ended up studying sociology and economics, but maybe I would have desired to be an astronomer," she says.

Inspired by the Cosmos Education, Murabana completed an online master's degree in astronomy with the James Cook University in 201l and set up her own outreach programme. She looked to Dr Mae Jemison, the first black woman in space, as a role model. "I hope that one day, through this work, I will spark a chain reaction that leads to the first African woman in space."

A group of foreigners visited Weihai, a coastal city, to explore what the rising star in China's tourism market can offer.

Driven by social media and short video platforms, Weihai's tourism industry saw a huge growth, with the city of just 2.92 million residents welcoming over 59 million visits.

Their first stop is the Dongchu Island in Rongcheng, a county-level city in Weihai, where the scenery is characterized by the region's unique seaweed-roofed houses. "I've never seen a roof made of seaweed. I can't believe my eyes at the houses," said Nick Ive, a British editor.

The group then visited the Sanggou Bay Marine Ranch（海洋牧场）, a hot family-friendly tourist destination to experience marine farming. "Visiting Sanggou Bay Marine Ranch was a pleasant experience because I could see and experience firsthan d how the sea fishes are kept," said Desca Lydi Natalia, a journalist with Antara, Indonesia's national news agency. "This experience not only increased my understanding but also provided enjoyment, as I could directly eat clams（蛤蜊） freshly harvested from the sea. I even had the opportunity to feed the seagulls."

Sanggo u Bay Marine Ranch receives about 80,000 visitors every year since it was established in 2015. Visiting the marine ranch has become one of the must-dos in Weihai.

Desca said that her favorite experience was living in a homestay in Weihai. "While staying in a hotel is comfortable, a homestay offers a different experience, especially since the yard is large and full of flowers, making it feel like home. So I chose a homestay,"said the Indonesian journalist. The homestay Desca chose is just a stone's throw away from the beach. Desca said that her country is a maritime country and also has many homestays. "So when I stayed in the homestay, the atmosphere reminded me of Indonesia," she added.
