What was supposed to be {#blank#}1{#/blank#} fun climb became a test of friendship for two young people from Canada last Saturday. Jeremy Savage and Ian Marshall, both {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(age) 17, went camping with their parents for the weekend. On Saturday morning, they decided to climb the mountain by themselves while their parents relaxed at the campsite. After three hours, they reached the top {#blank#}3{#/blank#} no problems.

    However, trouble began when they started the climb down the mountain. On one very {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (danger) part of the path, Ian fell three meters off the side of the path. Jeremy was able to climb down to where Ian was. Ian was  {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (bad) injured and could not move. They had to wait and {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (hope) that someone would come and help them. As the evening grew {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (dark), Ian told Jeremy to leave him and go back to their parents, but he still did not leave. Jeremy thought {#blank#}8{#/blank#} was not safe for Ian to be alone. The night was cold and windy, and Jeremy used his jacket and extra shirt to keep Ian warm.

    At sunrise, Jeremy decided that the only way  {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (help) his friend was to carry him. So they started the long climb back to their parents. Finally, after four hours, they arrived at the campsite {#blank#}10{#/blank#} their parents were waiting, “I'll always remember what Jeremy did for me.” said Ian. “He saved my life.”

    Savanna, 11, is possibly one of our next great experts of the heart disease. After visiting her Sunday school teacher, who was about to perform a heart {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (operate) at the hospital, Savanna's curiosity led towards a deep appreciation of the heart and its importance to the human body.

    Encouraged by her parents to research further matters of the heart, Savanna learned that one in three of her peers (同龄人) {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (be) suffering from childhood fatness, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} can lead to heart diseases. She began making YouTube videos sharing with the world ways to have a better health and create a happy, healthy heart.

    In 2016, Happy Heart Advice launched its Happy Heart Challenges, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (provide) over 300 hundred children and families {#blank#}5{#/blank#} education and free resources for healthy living. In June, she {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (invite) as an important speaker at the 9th Biennial Obesity Conference where she shared valuable information on how to form healthy eating {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (habit) and everyday lifestyles, and was honored by the American Heart Association for her work and effects in the health community at such {#blank#}8{#/blank#} early age.

    She's currently working on an app that will make it {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(easy) for moms and families to shop for “Happy Heart-approved Food”. She makes it her life's goal {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (make) sure kids have healthy hearts.

    Paul was a basketball player on the team, The lines. He loved basketball so much. Paul was shorter{#blank#}1{#/blank#} most basketball players; In fact, he was only 1.6 meters. One of his NBA favorite players was Tyrone Bogues who was also the{#blank#}2{#/blank#}height.

The distance between ancient Rome and ancient China was about 4,000 miles by land. It was a very {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (danger) trip with deserts and mountains. The Silk Road was a nickname for any route {#blank#}2{#/blank#} any trader took from China to Rome.

For a very long time, the ancient Romans did not know who was making the wonderful cloth {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (call) silk. They tried to find the traders as they came into villages to trade other goods for silk, but the traders {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (hide) from the Romans. Therefore, they had to trade for it {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (themself). The trading along the Silk Road was a relay system. One trader would travel for a while, stop and trade, and return home. {#blank#}6{#/blank#} next traveler would continue. And so it went. But {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (actual) no trader made the whole trip. It was too risky.

As the years went by, a civilization of sorts grew up along the Silk Road. Temples appeared. There were even cities built on the rare oasis (绿洲). It was never easy{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (travel) by land from China {#blank#}9{#/blank#}Rome, but it was worth it. Rome traded gold for China's silk and spices. But {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(many) things traveled the Silk Road than traders and goods. Ideas that changed the world traveled along the Silk Road as well.
