There are many wetlands in China and some of them have become the world's important wetlands. The Chinese Yellow Sea Wetlands are among them. They are in Yancheng, Jiangsu Province. They are home for many different kinds of animals. The world's largest Milu Deer Nature Reserve is in them. More than 700 Milu deer live freely there. There are not many red-crowned cranes in the world, but every winter you can see some in the Red-crowned Crane Nature Reserve in the Yellow Sea Wetlands.

The temperature in the wetlands is usually neither too high nor too low. There is a lot of rain and sunshine, too. They are really good places for wildlife. Offering(提供) food and home for some special kinds of animals is not the only reason why we need to protect wetlands. Wetlands are important because they also prevent flood. But some people want to change the wetlands to make more space for farms and less space for wildlife.

    Luckily, more and more people are beginning to realize the importance of wetlands and wildlife. Every year, on February 2nd, many activities are held to tell people more about wetlands.

  Researchers found out that people had double the number of calories(卡路里)when standing in a messy kitchen compared to when they stood in an orderly one．

    The researchers had 98 women spend to minutes in kitchens，under the guise of (以……为幌子)asking them to wait for someone．Half of the women stood in a messy kitchen，with piles of newspapers，dirty dishes and a ringing phone．The other half of the women waited in a clean kitchen．

    Both kitchens had bowls of biscuits and carrots．Each woman in the messy kitchen ate twice as many cookies compared to those in the clean kitchen．

    Why did this happen?

    “Being in a messy environment and feeling out of control is bad for diets，''Lenny Vartanian，one of the researchers，said．“It seems to lead people to think，‘Everything else is out of control,so why shouldn't I be?'''

    The study's size was small，but the findings prove something we know all too well：Stress(压力)is bad for you．Stress often causes people to overeat．Beyond weight gain，too much stress can also increase a person's heart rate，and lead to painful conditions like headaches．

Geographers predict that climate zones could completely disappear within the next eighty years. Where will crops be grown if this happens? When the climate changes a lot, polar regions will get colder and tropical regions will get even hotter. As a result, where will animals be forced to move on the earth?

    Climate changes like these could lead to the spread of diseases. Tropical storms and hurricanes(飓风) will not only increase but may also become stronger. If the changes come too quickly, animals and plants may not be able to adapt(适应) right away and could disappear from the earth.

    Not long ago, scientists discovered ice melting(融化) in west Antarctica(南极洲). This is very worrying because temperatures in this area have remained rather constant(不断的) and actually even lower at time. Melting occurs when temperatures increase and since temperatures have remained, the ice should not be melting. However, satellite data(数据) shows melting around west Antarctica.

    Within just the last few months, new reports from around the world have been coming in and most agree that our climate situation is much worse than previously expected. At this point, it doesn't matter what is causing it, but rather, what can be done about it. On the other hand, our world is getting more and more unstable(不稳定) every year. Natural disasters(灾难) are becoming more frequent(频繁的) and serious.

    However, other planets are experiencing global warming as well as our own and some scientists believe there may be some connections between these. No one knows anything for sure at this point because there is simply not enough data.
