Nowadays we can see more and more electric bikes in the street. Electric bikes 61. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (be) easy to ride. They run fast and make no {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (pollute). They become very popular, {#blank#}3{#/blank#}the electric bikes also cause more traffic accidents. So China plans {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (make) a new rule for the electric bike riders. If an electric bike is {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (heavy) than 40 kilos and can go faster than 20 kilometers an hour, its rider must get a license. It means some riders have to pass driving tests before they ride {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (them) electric bikes on the road.

    People have different ideas after {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (hear) the plan. Some welcome the plan. A bus driver said happily, " {#blank#}8{#/blank#}a good plan! I think it will make the street much safer." Some are not happy with the new rules at all. One rider said {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (sad), "I don't want to get a license. It's not convenient {#blank#}10{#/blank#}me to get one." Some don't care about it. A young rider said calmly, "I prefer to use shared bikes which are popular in many big cities of China now. When I first went to Britain，a lot of things seemed strange to me. For example，people drove on the left side of the road and many people carried an umbrella all the time. There were also many other things that I found really surprising. 

The first thing I noticed was how polite British people were. When I got on the bus，the driver would greet me；when people got off the bus，they would say "Thank you" to the driver；when I went into a shop，I would be greeted by a smiling salesman. 

The family I stayed with were very nice，but their house was full of peculiar（奇怪的）things. Firstly，there were carpets everywhere，even in the bathroom. Also，the bathroom was full of surprises. The first time I tried to wash my hands I burned myself. The cold and hot water came out of different taps. Then，when I tried to dry my hair，I couldn't find a socket（插座） for my hairdryer. Maybe that wasn't such a big surprise. More surprising was the fact that British people didn't take their shoes off when they went into a house—can you imagine？

I guess that for British people all of these things are normal. It's only when you visit a foreign country that you realize that what you think is normal is not. Normality depends on where you are. 

Hi, I'm Andy. I'm 30 years old. I'm a doctor, and I live at Scott Base. It's very cold here. At night it can be -50℃, and in the middle of the day it's only -20℃.

There are twelve people living here. There is a restaurant, a TV room, a small shop and 6 bedrooms — one bedroom is for two people. Jack is my roommate. He is very tidy and he cleans the bedroom every day. Most of the food is from New Zealand and we also eat fish from the sea.

Computers can injure you. Most other injuries happen suddenly. For example, if you fall off a bicycle and break your arm, it happens very quickly. But computer injuries happen slowly. 

Your eyes

Too much light can injure your eyes, so never sit too close to a computer screen. Your eyes should be at least 50 centimeters from the screen. Remember to look away from it sometimes. This gives your eyes a rest. 

When you use a computer, the window should be on your left or your right. If it is behind you, the light will reflect（反射）on the screen. If the windows is in front of you, the sun and the screen will both shine into your eyes. 

Your hands and wrists（手腕）

Hand and wrist injuries can happen because the hands and wrists are moved in the same way hundreds of times. If you use a keyboard for a long time, follow these three rules:（1）Rest your wrists on something.（2）Keep your elbows（肘）at the same height as the keyboard.（3）Stop sometimes and exercise your hands, wrists and fingers in a different way. 

Your back

Some people sit for many hours in front of a computer. If you sit in a wrong way, you can injure your back or your neck. So you should sit with your back straight. The top part of the screen should be in front of your eyes. Your forearms（前臂）, wrists and hands should all be parallel to （与……平行） the floor. If you are sitting for a long time, get up every 30 minutes and exercise your arms, legs and neck.
