Mike is a factory worker. He works long hours every day. He is often very 1 after a day's work. His wife, Jenny, has no 2, so she stays at home to cook the meals. Every day he can have his dinner when he 3 home from his factory.

    One day, Mike came home very 4 because he was very busy in the factory. He was very 5 when he got home.

    He was not 6 when he found his dinner was not ready. He was very angry with his wife. He 7 at her, “I'm going out to eat in a 8.”

    “9 for five minutes," said his wife.

    "Why? Do you think that dinner will be ready in five minutes?" asked Mike.

    "Of course not," she answered. "But I 10 be ready to go with you in five minutes."

    It's the day before Spring Festival.Everyone 1very happy.It's a busy time for Li Hai's family.Look! Li Hai's mother is2the yard (院子).She wants to sweep away3luck.Li Hai's father is painting the doors4 . They like red very much. Li Hai's sister is decorating the windows5papercut（剪纸）. Li Hai's brother is sitting in front of the television6 he is waiting for Pan Changjiang's Performance. He is his favourite star. 7is the boy? He is Li Hai's friend, Jack.He is helping Li Hai's grandmother8 dumplings.Oh，where's Li Hai? I don't see9.Wow，he is sending greetings to his10teacher by email.He likes maths very much.

He is always in my heart. I couldn't believe I lost him. As I think of my father, tears fill my eyes and stream down my face. 

My dad always wanted to go to Canada, so he wrote a letter to one of my uncles in Canada for help. My uncle successfully got a visit visa(签证)for my dad. So he flew to Canada, looking for a better life for his kids. That year, I was six. 

After a few months, dad wrote us a letter saying he was fine and happy. That letter, and its many fellows(伙伴)down the years, all with the same words, kept coming to our doors for 11 years. Yet, even as he lived here in Canada, his health was failing him―but fearing we would worry he never let on about his ill health. He spent these years in Canada working hard; finally after 11 years when he got his landed immigrant(永久居民)paper, he wrote us saying all of us could move to Canada. 

We were all happy that we would finally be together. It was to be a huge family reunion(重聚). Sadly my father did not live to see his family reunion as he suffered a serious heart attack. 

Yes, Canada is a wonderful country. So many times I can't help thinking it was here that my dad was taken away from us. When I miss him, I want someone to hold me and give me a hug. And when I see how everyone gives his father gifts on Father's Day, wishing them a long, happy life, I want to do the same. But to whom can I give my Father's Day gift and card? Where can I get the same warm loving hug again?

It was a cold afternoon. I was training（训练） a football team for first graders. It was the day of our first practice. I seated the kids on a long bench on the grass. Any time I was training a new team, I spent a few minutes getting them to 1 one another, each kid saying his name and the names of all the kids sitting to the left of him.

A few minutes later, I decided to choose Alex to start at the end of the bench, go up to each kid, say that kid's 2 and then shake his right hand.

Alex was doing well and he went down the row（一排）—Dylan, Micah, David and Beau—until he reached Ben. He said Ben's name and reached out his right hand, but Ben just 3 there with his right hand 4 in his jacket. "Ben, why don't you let Alex shake your hand?" I asked. Ben stood up and said, "But I don't have that 5 ." He pulled his jacket away from his right shoulder. Ben's arm ran from his right shoulder but his arm 6 at the elbow（胳膊肘）. No forearm, no hand, no fingers! I got shocked（震惊） and could think of 7 to say, but the little kids were curious（好奇的）.

"What happened to your arm?" Alex asked. "Does it hurt?"

Ben took off his jacket to 8 the kids what they all wanted to see. He explained（解释） to them that he had always been that 9 and that there was nothing special. What he meant was that he wanted to be treated（被对待） like everybody else.

And he was. From that day on, he was 10 Ben, one of the players on the team.

This year, the 23rd Pingyao International Photography Festival started {#blank#}4{#/blank#} September 19th to September 25th. 2, 657 photographers (摄影者) {#blank#}5{#/blank#} the festival. A number of {#blank#}6{#/blank#} are students from more than 120 universities. Their works were fantastic {#blank#}7{#/blank#}they took the competition seriously. They thought it was a good way to make their dreams come true. Besides, there were {#blank#}8{#/blank#}kind of activities , such as big concerts, great speeches, photo shows and so on. They were also {#blank#}9{#/blank#} enjoy! Visitors expected to learn more about photography and the world from the meaningful festival. 

Pingyao International Photography Festival helps the world have a better understanding of each other. We strongly believe that our hometown will surely get {#blank#}10{#/blank#}and stronger.
