Singles' Day falls on November 11th every year in China, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} is recognized as a day for people who have no girlfriend or boyfriend. Couples and lovers have Valentine's Day in {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (celebrate) of their love, but how about the singles? There must be a day they can celebrate even without a partner. That's {#blank#}3{#/blank#} people created Singles' Day.

    On Singles' Day many singles choose to say goodbye to their single lives, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (attend) blind date（相亲） parties, and some people even decide to get{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (marry) to strangers. {#blank#}6{#/blank#} this day has recently become more of a time for shopping, because many shops online will give customers great discount {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (promote) their goods.

    More and more people are {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (will) to shop online to get what they want, and I am one of them. I just can't help buying things {#blank#}9{#/blank#} I need them or not. {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (honest) speaking, some of the things that I bought have been put aside forever in my closet.

    Last year, my brother and I went to Miami for a vacation. Some of my friends who had been there before said {#blank#}1{#/blank#} was a Wonderful holiday destination. Before we went, we had planned for months. When the day came, we were ready.

    After our plane landed, we went to the hotel. We had made our reservation six months{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(early), but the man at the front desk said there had been a mistake. We{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(tell) that our rooms hadn't been reserved for that week,{#blank#}4{#/blank#} for the week after. I didn't understand {#blank#}5{#/blank#}this would happen and my credit card had already been charged {#blank#}6{#/blank#} the reservation. What's worse, the hotel had been fully hooked. When we were wondering what to do, the manager came out. She was {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(surprise) helpful. She apologized for the mistake and gave us a spare VIP room on {#blank#}8{#/blank#} top floor. We had never stayed in such an amazing room, and we weren't charged extra.

    The next day, my brother and I went to the beach {#blank#}9{#/blank#} we watched some people play volleyball. We got a little {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(sunburn), but the day had been so relaxing that we didn't mind.

    The tea culture of China is {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (amaze) and has a long history.  Tea drinking was widespread in China for about one thousand years {#blank#}2{#/blank#} appearing in Europe.  

    Tea drinking in China enjoys wide popularity.  Many people nowadays go to expensively decorated teahouses {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(talk) business.  However, tea drinking is very complex. Many factors contribute to {#blank#}4{#/blank#} enjoyable experience. It starts with the surroundings. In the past, tea drinking took place in a setting {#blank#}5{#/blank#}spring water runs on marble. At present, in order to create such atmosphere, teahouses {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(decorate) with traditional paintings and furniture.  Besides, there is always a {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(perform) of a traditional Chinese musical instrument, such as the guzheng, pipa and erhu. Water {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (use) for tea also matters. In the old days, the water that came from melted snow was regarded as the best. Today no one collects snow any longer because of pollution and what people use is bottled water. Red tea, together with green tea, oolong tea and pu'er tea {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(rank) the top four favorites. The first three types of tea are processed using similar methods but pu'er tea uses a {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (total) different method.  

    Located in the northwest of Hunan Province, about 300 kilometers away from Changsha, capital of Hunan, Zhangjiajie, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} covers a total area of 9,563 square kilometers, is a tourist city for its unique natural scenery and abundant tourism resources. Zhangjiajie{#blank#}2{#/blank#} (award) the title of "World Geological Park" in 2004. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (actual), Zhangjiajie, honored as "the most fantastic mountain under heaven" and "a walking Chinese landscape painting", is also widely praised as "{#blank#}4{#/blank#} enlarged potted landscaping" "a mini fairyland" and "a maze(迷宫)of nature", attracting a growing number of tourists {#blank#}5{#/blank#} home and abroad.

    Since it was discovered in the 1980s, tourism industry {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (become) the leading industry in Zhangjiajie, which has stimulated the development of other industries {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (relate) to tourism. At the same time, eco-tourism has been developed rapidly in Zhangjiajie. When you come to Zhangjiajie, you can fully appreciate {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (it) magnificent natural scenery and experience appealing folk custom as well as other thrilling tourist {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (activity),and you will be deeply impressed by {#blank#}10{#/blank#} is performed by the minorities there.

    For some US college students, a break from school is a time to volunteer {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (help) communities in need. They take part in activities {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (organize) by school to do voluntary work.

    This spring break, I had the opportunity to go on one of these trips, and it was the {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (good) week of my entire life. I went with twelve other students and two adults down to Rocky Mount, North Carolina in the US. We worked on three houses, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (build) roofs, painting, and decorating.

    It was very rewarding to see how much we {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (appreciate) by the people living in that town. Every time we went out somewhere for dinner, people came up to us to express {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (they) appreciation. This made us foul really good and {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (encourage) us to get more done each day.

    The trip wasn't all about work, however. We had {#blank#}8{#/blank#} amazing group of people who enjoyed one another's company, Wu created our own fun, {#blank#}9{#/blank#} helped us get to know each other well. At the end of the trip, I came home {#blank#}10{#/blank#} not only a great sense of success but also fourteen really good new friends.
