Do you believe that we can have an important influence on anyone we meet? The right words at just the right time could 1someone's life.

    When I was 3 years old, my parents discovered I was2. After asking many doctors and parents of other deaf children, they decided not to put me in a special school. Although I seemed outgoing, my self-esteem（自尊心）was quite low. On my first day at school, the other kids3 me because of my hearing aid andthe way I talked. I was hurt deeply and I saw myself as a(n)4kid.

    Mrs. Green, my5,changed all of that with a simple three-word phrase. One morning, she asked the class a question. Sitting at my desk silently, I 6 herlips（嘴唇）and raised my hand right away. She called on mein front of the blackboard. I took a deep breath and7 answered Mrs. Green's question.

    I will8forget what happened next. Mrs. Green pointed directly at me. With sparkling （闪光的）eyes and a big smile she cried:         "That's right, Ben!"

    For the first time in my young life, my confidence（自信）rose. At that moment, I decided that no matter how many9 I may face, I can overcome（克服）them. Thanks to those three 10 words, my whole life changed from that moment.

    It snowed again. My seventh Christmas was round the corner. I dreamed of getting the present from Father Christmas until my elder sister dropped the bomb (突然宣布). "There is no Father Christmas." 

    I ran to my grandmother's house, for she always told the 1. Grandmother was at home. I told her everything. "No Father Christmas?" she was a little 2. "Don't believe it. Put on your coat, and let's go."

    "Go? Where, Grandma?" I asked.

    "Kerby's Store. "

    As we walked through its doors. Grandma handed me the dollars and said. "Take the 3and buy something for someone who needs it. I'll wait for you in the car." Then she turned and walked out of the Kerby's.

    For a few seconds I just stood there, holding the money, wondering what to buy, and who to buy it for.

    I thought of everybody I knew, my family, my friends, my neighbours… I suddenly thought of Bobbie Decbar, a boy with bad breath (口臭) and messy (凌乱的) hair. He sat right behind me in Mrs Polack's class.

    Bobbie 4 went to any party during the winter. His mother always wrote a note, telling the teacher that he had a cough, 5 we all knew that he didn't have a cough. In fact, he didn't have a 6. I decided to buy Bobbie a red warm coat that he would like.

    That evening, grandma helped me wrap (包裹) the coat in Christmas paper and ribbons (缎带), and write "To Bobbie. From Father Christmas" on it. Grandma told me Father Christmas never let people know that he 7 them. Then she drove me over to Bobbie's home, telling me that I was helping Father Christmas 8 the presents.

    Grandma parked the car along the street and we hid behind the trees near Bobbie's home. Then Grandma said to me. "All right, Father Christmas, get going."

    I took a deep breath, rushed to his front door, put the present down 9 the door, rang the doorbell and flew back to the safety of the 10 and Grandma. We waited breathlessly in the dark for the front door to open. Finally it did and there stood Bobbie.

    That night, I realized that Father Christmas was alive and well, and we were on his team.

    As a Japanese girl called Jenny, I experienced a terrible earthquake in March, 2011. I 1 my dear father in the earthquake and my mother was ill for a long time. I lost my school and some of my classmates and teachers. I never forget that 2  time in my life.

    In October, 2011, I moved to a new school 3 Red Sun Middle School. At first I didn't want to study at all and only 4 my old classmates very much. Later, the head teacher had a long talk with my mother and he hoped I would study hard. The teachers were very 5 to me and my new classmates helped me a lot. Then I felt the warmth(温暖) in the new class. And I got good  6 in the final exam.

    On the morning of May 7th, 2012, when I came into the 7, a big birthday cake on the teacher's desk came into my eyes 8  there were four big words "Happy birthday to you!" on the blackboard. Oh, it was my thirteenth birthday. My dear head teacher 9 up to me, saying, "Happy birthday to you, Jenny. And be a happy girl. " Then my classmates surrounded(围住) me with so many colorful flowers and gifts. I couldn't say 10, and the eyes were full of moving tears. I had a great time that day. I was sure it was my happiest birthday in my life and I would never forget it.

    Mr. Zhou is a Chinese teacher of Grade 1 in a school. One day while he1 into the classroom, he heard a low2, “Here is the teacher. I don't like him because he is a3 fellow (家伙). I'm sure the boring fellow is going to4 putting in commas (逗号) today." It was Bill's voice. He was talking with a boy next to him.

    The teacher didn't get angry. He said 5 about it, but began to talk about putting in commas, and then he6 down the sentence on the blackboard," Bill says his7 is a boring fellow."

    The class laughed and Bill's face8 red.

    “Now," said the teacher. "I'll show you9 important commas are."

    He put10 commas into the sentence and then read, "Bill, says his teacher, is a boring fellow."
