Do you ever watch old movies? Maybe you will see one with Carole Lombard. She was a famous 1  in the 1930s. She died when she was only 34.  In her  2 life she made 70 movies!

    Lombard's real name was Jane Alice Peters: In 1921, she was playing baseball in the 3 near her home. A movie director  4  her and decided to put her in a movie. She was only 13 at the time. The movie was one of the last silent movies. She acted(表演) so well that she5 the hearts of some people. At 16, she left school to act.

    In 1925, she had an agreement with a  6 studio, 20th Century Fox. The studio gave 7  a new name, and she acted in several films. Then, at age 18, she was in a bad car accident. The accident left scars(伤疤) on her face. The studio broke the agreement, but she did not 8. She continued to act.

    It was Paramount Studio that made Lombard a 9. She made many movies for the studio. She also married two of their stars. Lombard was married to actor William Powell for only 23 months. 10  seven years later, she married the great love of her life, actor Clark Gable. It was a great Hollywood love story.

    My father was sick badly,so he needed a lot of help to do the everyday things.

    Dad was sitting in his old armchair and listening to the radio when I arrived.He 1and smiled.

    “What's new,Jim?”he said,2 I sat down on the sofa.

    I wanted to tell him all about my problems at work,3I couldn't seem to find the works.4 he think that I was a failure,out of work at 58?”Nothing much,”I said,finally.He told me lots of family news.He was in 5 spirits.Then it was time for Dad to 6 his medicine.

    “I'll get it,”I said.I went into the kitchen and7a glass of water from the fridge.I found a red apple in the kitchen.I cut it into small slices,put them on a plate.He was very 8 and looked as if he were going to cry.

    “Dad?What's the matter?”I asked.

    “9 has cut me an apple like that since your mother died,”he said.”it's just like what she used to do.”I shut and opened my eyes quickly to bring 10 the tears.I couldn't let myself cry in front of him.

    Do you have any interests in your childhood? In my seventh grade, I developed a/an 1 in solving a Rubik's Cube. I started by asking my brother to teach me and he asked me to solve a blue cross on a cube by myself.

    I spent around 20 minutes mixing the cube and finally got that little blue cross on the top. 2, I jumped up from the chair and raced into my brother's bedroom. After handing the cube to him, to my surprise, he mixed the perfect blue cross up. Making my work completely disappear.

    "Do it again," he 3 it back to me.

    "No, I won't." I was angry stepping out of his room.

    A few weeks later, my brother wasn't at home. "I'm going to 4 how to do this without him!" I promised myself. I spent the rest of my night watching a guy on YouTube teach me to solve the first few steps. I mastered those steps.

    The next day, I spent the whole school day secretly5 what I had learned the night before. When I made my way to my music class, I tried to find some spare time taking out the cube again and solving what I knew. Noah, my classmate, and also one of my best friends later, laughed at me.

    "Do you know how?" I sneered（讥笑）.

    "Actually yeah, let me see it. My fastest solving 6 is 15 seconds," he noted as he began solving the cube. It took him about 25 seconds to finish it.

    "Okay, that was cool." I started solving the cube again. I didn't know at that time this boy would be my inspiration for cube solving. He taught me each step, each day, and when I 7, he'd remind(提醒) me how to do it. He was the best friend I'd ever had.

    Sadly he's no longer with us now, but the memories of solving cubes together will be there forever. It was this boy who helped me with cube solving. It takes me around a minute to solve a Rubik's Cube. I am 8 that I can do something not many people can. Thank you, Noah.
