Wang Xiaohong is 7 years old. Her parents gave her an iPad as a present for her birthday. She was very excited and played with the ipad every day. A month later, her eyesight decreased(下降)to 300 degrees. Thin is serious for such a young girl Many children in China are facing the same problem tablet(平板电脑)and ipad using is bringing problems to their eyesight. The problem is so common that newspapers even call the iPad the " No. I killer of children's eyesight".
"There are about 30 shortsighted(近视的)children coming every day, " said Hu Dali, an eye doctor at Guiyang Aier Eye Hospital " Half of those children have poor eyesight because they have played with phones and iPads for too long."
Doctors and scientists say children's eyesight is not yet fully developed and their eyes get tired more easily. The screen of an ipad uses a very bright LED backlight. If children look at an iPad screen too much, their eyes do not have time to rest. This will make their eyesight worse over time.
Doctors advise that users should hold their iPads between 40-60 centimeters away from them. The brightness of the screen should be comfortable for children. Children had better use iPads for less than one hour every day.

What will happen in 100 years? What will the changes be? Can you imagine? The population is growing faster. There will be more people in the world and they will live longer than people now. Maybe some of the rich can live on the moon. Hand-held computers will be much smaller and more useful and there will be at least one in every home. The Internet speed will be much faster. People will work fewer hours than they do now and they will have more free time for sports, watching TV and traveling. Traveling will be much easier and cheaper. There will also be changes in our food. No one will eat meat every day, they will eat more fruit and vegetables instead. Work in the future will be different, too. Dangerous and hard work can be done by robots. Because of this, many people will not have enough work to do. This will be a problem.

Don't be too surprised if you see a car going down the road without a driver in Beijing these days. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}Last month, Baidu began to test its self-driving cars on open roads in Beijing.
{#blank#}2{#/blank#}Since then, companies like Tesla, Uber and Baidu have been working to produce and test their own self-driving cars.
Self-driving cars are safer than regular cars. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}They can remove the stress of driving and allow disabled or blind people to get around more easily.
{#blank#}4{#/blank#}In one test, researchers pointed a laser pointer(激光棒) at the car's sensors(传感器) while it was moving. The car mistakenly thought that the laser beam was in its way and slowed down or changed the direction.
The software that is used to direct the cars may not be safe enough. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}When we use our computers or smartphones, they sometimes crash (崩溃) without any reason. But if this happened to a self-driving car, the results could be deadly. Improvements to the software could be a solution to this problem.
