Seven People Drowned in a Reservoir(水库)

Reporter Tang got the news from Guangdong Provincial Government that people died in a drowning accident on April 5th, 2015. A 17-year-old girl , Xiao Yi, fell into a reservoir while washing hands after a tomb(墓) sweeping with her family. Her sister, her parents , her brother and some of her relatives jumped into the water one after one to save her, although they didn't have good swimming skills. Unfortunately, none of them succeeded. As a result, Xiao Yi ans six of her family members lost their lives.

Three People Lost Their Lives in the Dongjiang River

On May 1st, 2015, seven middle school students went swimming in the Dongjiang River. At first, they had a great time playing in the water. Suddenly one of the boys had a cramp(抽筋) . He went up and down in the water and shouted for help. Two of them tried to save him, but got drowned. At that time, a man called Li Jinlin was fishing

nearby. When he heard the shout, he jumped into the water without a second thought. He tried his best to save the second one, he ran out of energy and couldn't go up again. Two students and he lost their loves.

    Almost all of us have unpleasant habits. We all want to get rid of(摆脱) them, but we don't know proper ways. Here's some advice.

    ●Write down all the reasons why you want to stop some behavior. Look at the reasons very often.

    ●It's clever to do something else when you want to stop your bad habits. If you get angry easily, for example, you can go out for a walk.

    ●Decide what you'll do to reward(奖励) yourself if you really get rid of your bad habits.

    ●If you get too heavy, keep junk food out of your house.

    ●Bad habits develop over years, so you can't get rid of them very soon. So you should be patient.

    ●Don't be afraid to ask others for support. You can talk to your friends, family or other people. When you talk to them, they might be able to provide some advice that you can't get from yourself.

    Everyone knows that exercise is important. We need to exercise. Doctors say it is good for us. It keeps us healthy.

    When the daytime comes, we must get up. This is the time for exercise. Exercise means doing things with the body.（1）There are many ways to exercise. You can walk, run, swim, skate, or play ballgames. Make sure you exercise in the following ways: you have to like what you're doing. Exercise enough-but not too much. It is good to exercise twice each week. Thirty minutes each time is enough. Try all kinds of things until you find one sport that you feel right for you.

    Exercise can be fun. Friends can exercise at fitness center, or they can play sports. How do you exercise？（2）你多长时间锻炼一次？

    When Paul was a boy growing up in Utah, he happened to live near a copper smelter(炼厂), and the chemicals coming out of the smelter made a beautiful forest become a wasteland. One day a young visitor looked at this wasteland and called it an awful area. Paul got so angry when he heard these words. From then on, something happened inside him.

    Years later Paul was back to the hometown and he went to the smelter office. He asked if they had any plans or if they would let him try to bring the trees back. The answer from that big industry was "No".

    Paul then went to college to study the science of plants. Unfortunately, his teachers said there weren't any birds or squirrels(松)to spread the seeds. It would be a waste of his life to try to do it. Everyone knew that, he was told. Even if he was knowledgeable as he had expected. nobody accepted his idea.

    Paul later got married and had some kids. But he didn't give up. And then one night he did what he could with what he had. Under the cover of darkness, he went secretly into the wasteland and started planting.

    And every week, he made his secret journey into the wasteland and planted trees and grass. Slowly rabbits appeared. Later, as there was pressure(压力)to clean up the environment, the company actually invited Paul to do what he was already doing. Now the place is fourteen thousand acres of trees and grass, and Paul has received almost every environmental award Utah has. It took him a long time until his hair turned grey, but he managed to keep that impossible promise he made to himself as a child.
