In August, 2012, I visited London with my husband(丈夫) and our two sons Sam and Eric. We spent four days visiting some interesting places and enjoyed ourselves. The fifth day, I wanted to relax at the hotel. But the children didn't like it. So I carefully thought about how we would spend the last day. I read a passage about HMS Belfast in a magazine. In fact, I was not very interested in visiting a warship(战舰), but my sons and their dad liked it. So we decided to go there.

    The weather was sunny that day. We left our hotel at 8：00 a.m. It took us about two hours to get to HMS Belfast. Children under 16 were free of charge(免费)．The price of the ticket for an adult (成年人) was ￡14.The warship was very large. We took some photos there. Sam was interested in everything on it and said it was the most interesting place in London.

    Science is about asking questions. A science fair project is an experiment or a research effort. Through such a project, you learn how to find problems and how to solve them.

    A science fair project includes at least three parts: the display poster board, the exhibit (展览) materials, and the written report.

    The display poster board

    The display poster board is very important. It is what people first see. As a kind of "advertisement" for your project, it must be carefully designed. Usually, the board should include the key points of your research.

    The exhibit materials

    These materials can be the most exciting part of any science project. They usually include the items you used in your project. Together, they tell a story. People should be able to understand your project on their own through these materials.

    The written report

    No matter what you do, you need to record your findings in a written form. The written report should include all the information you collected while you were working on your project. The report may also include your understanding of the topic you choose.

    Tornadoes(龙卷风) are whirlwinds(旋风) with speeds of up to 400 km per hour. In Britain, there were very few tornadoes in the past. Now, there are more than 50 tornadoes a year. Tornadoes are only one sign of the world's climate changes. There are many others. The number of thunderstorms is increasing, and there are more floods in some parts of the world, and there's much less rain in others. Scientists still do not know enough about the reasons for these climate changes. Most scientists think human activities are the problem.

    Cutting down trees, burning too much oil, and the increase in the number of cars are some of the things that cause the problems. Global(全球的) temperatures are rising because of these things. Scientists believe that if the temperatures continue to rise, the ice at the poles will melt(融化) .

    If the ice melts, sea levels will rise. Some islands might disappear completely. All this means that unless we do something to stop global warming now, there may be many other dramatic changes in the future.

    Do you like surprises? There are bad surprises and nice surprises.

    Have you ever had a surprise party? Didn't it feel great to be surprised by all your friends and family? Especially when you thought they'd forgotten your birthday.

    A surprise like a party or a gift or a phone call that is unexpected somehow feels better than you were expecting. ⑴Those are the surprises that I like the most.

    I try to surprise my family sometimes. I bring my wife flowers or give something to my children. You should see the looks on their faces. ⑵They make me happy, too.

    You should surprise people. You'll probably make their day, and it might make your day.

    Tim was a little boy. He was only ten years old. But he liked travelling. Tim was studying in a primary school.(A)Last week he went on a school trip with his teachers and classmates.

    (B)They spent one hour on the bus and finally got to the hill. They found a valley(山谷)full of roses. There   (C)   many kinds of roses. Some were very red. Some were white. Some were black. They were very beautiful. Many bees and butterflies were flying from one rose to another. Tim and his friends tried to catch some butterflies, but they failed to do so.     After they  (D)  to the top of the hill, they took out the food with them. Tim had lunch with his classmates. Then they began to dance and sing and play games on the hill.
