Last Wednesday, when school children were travelling home by bus from Yucai Middle School,a car hit their bus.Luckily,no one was hurt.

    The accident happened because the driver of a red car,Mr.Zhang,68,became ill and fell down on the steering(方向盘)while driving.His car then hit a white car.And the white car hit the school bus. Luckily, nobody was driving fast. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

    The driver of the bus, Mr. Li, stopped the bus at once. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} And then he got out to see if he could help anyone.

    Mr. Wang, the driver of the white car, was not hurt and was trying to push his car to the side of the road.No cars could pass because of the accident. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}

    Mr. Li tried to help Mr.Zhang. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} So Mr. Li called an ambulance(救护车). {#blank#}5{#/blank#} It was difficult for the ambulance to reach there. With the help of the police, the traffic could move again. Soon the ambulance(救护车) took Mr. Zhang to the hospital .

    Taiwan lies in the southeast of China. It's the largest island in China. It has an area of about 36, 000 square kilometres and it has a population of over 20, 000, 000.It is rich in natural resources. Bananas, rice, tea and so on are famous at home and abroad.     Ted Robinson has been worried all the week. Last Tuesday he received a letter from the local police. In the letter he was asked to call at the station. Ted wanted to know why he was wanted by the police, but he went to the station yesterday and he is not worried any more.

    At the station, he was told by a smiling policeman that his bicycle had been found. Five days ago, the policeman told him, the bicycle was picked up in a small village four hundred miles away. It is now being sent to his home by train.

    Ted was the most surprised when he heard the news. He was amused(感到有趣) , too，because he never expected (指望) the bicycle to be found. It was stolen(被偷)  twenty years ago when Ted was a boy of fifteen.

    Were you the first or the last child in your family? Or were you a middle or an only child? Some people think it matters where you were born in your family. Brian Wansink, a professor at the University of Illinois, says we also eat certain foods because they make us feel good, and remind us of happy memories. Wansink calls this kind of food comfort food. For some people, ice cream is a comfort food. For others, a bowl of noodles makes them feel good.

    How does a food became comfort food? Professor Wansink believes that we connect food with important times, feelings, and people in our lives. "When I was a child, my mother made a kind of delicious soup; I loved it. Now, I often eat this kind of soup when I am tired or worried, and it helps me feel better," says one of Wansink's friends.

    Do men and women choose different comfort foods? Wansink's research at the University of Illinois says "yes". In his study, the favourite comfort food for both men and women was ice cream. After this, men usually preferred hot, delicious foods like soup or noodles. Women liked sweet things such as chocolate and candies. Men and women like to eat comfort foods when they are happy, but women eat these foods more when they are sad or worried.
