I started my school life at the age of six．At first the school for me，a boy，meant play，play and more play instead of sitting in the classroom and learning something．However，I changed the way I used to behave(表现)at school with the help of my teachers．I tried my best to do well in my schoolwork and follow the school rules．

    Growing and learning were great fun．Every year we had different kinds of school trips．Not only could we learn many things from them，but also we were given many projects(课题)as homework.  It helped US know more.  At the same time，we made many good friends．In Grade 8，I won prizes in drawing and English speech competitions．Ⅳhen I was in Grade 9，I realized that I should give all my attention to my studies because l was going to take the exams to get into senior(高级的)middle school．

Whenever I think of my school life，I feel very happy and I think in everybody's school life there are many ups and downs(苦乐；盛衰)that influence his life．School is a place where all of US learn to care and share．"School''is not just a place，but a large building made up of rules，knowledge and love．I think in everybody's success，school plays a key role．I can describe my school in"Three Ss"．They are：Small，Sweet and Simple．My school was the best，is the best and will always be the best．

    In classes, your teachers will talk about the topic that you are studying. The information they provide will be important for you to know when you take tests. So you must be able to take good written notes from what your teachers say.

    Here are three stages(阶段) of taking notes and what you should do during each stage.

    1） Before Class   Review your notes you have taken before you come to class. This will be good for remembering what was covered. Get you ready to understand new information your teacher will provide.

    2） During Class   Pay your attention to what your teacher is saying and "the signal words" that tell you what your teacher is going to say. It is important to write them down in your notes. Examples of signal words are "The important point……" and "Remember that……", and so on. Be sure to write in your notes the information that your teacher repeats or writes on the blackboard. Write quickly so that you can include all the important information in your notes. Do this by writing abbreviations(缩写） such as "med" for medicine, using symbols such as "%" for percent, and writing short sentences.

    3） After Class   Rewrite your notes to make them more complete and accurate (准确的) by changing abbreviations into whole words, symbols into words, and shortened sentences into longer sentences. Use them to answer your questions. If necessary, ask your teacher for help.

Information Card

    One morning, a little mouse went out to find something to eat. He was careless and met a fierce (凶猛的) lion. The lion caught the mouse and wanted to eat him.

    "Please let me go, Mr. lion, "said the mouse." One day, I'll help you. "

    The lion laughed, "How could a little mouse help a big lion?" "Well," he said. "I will let you go. But you must walk more carefully. "

    The mouse was very grateful (感激的). "Thank you, Mr. Lion. You are very kind. I will repay (报答) you one day, " the little mouse said.

    The next week, the mouse was looking for something to eat again. He saw the lion under a tree. But the lion was tied tightly (紧紧地被捆着) in a net of strong ropes (绳子) .He could not get out.

    "I will help you, "said the mouse .His teeth were sharp. Then he bit (咬) one rope, and then another. Soon the lion was free. He was very pleased. "Thank you, Mr. Mouse,” he said.

    Ever since Greg was a little boy, he had watched his grandfather carve(雕刻) small wooden figures(木偶). In a short time, his grandfather could change a piece of wood into a wonderful work of art. Greg often wished that he could create wonderful little wooden figures as his grandfather did.

    One day, Greg's grandfather called the boy into his room. “Today is the day that you begin to learn the lost art of carving.” Greg couldn't believe his ears. He sat beside his grandfather. The smell of the wood filled his nose, and he loved that. Grandfather told him the names of the different tools he used to create the figures.

    After the introduction to the tools was over, Greg picked up a piece of wood and started to carve. He worked for hours that day, trying to learn his grandfather's skill. Although his small wooden figure was far from perfect, both Greg and his grandfather were quite proud of the work Greg had done. “I will put it on my desk,” Greg's grandfather told him. Greg's eyes shone with joy. He knew that it would take him many years to become as skillful as his grandfather, but Greg was going to enjoy every minute of it!

    I'm Sally. I'm a student in No.14 Middle School. This is my family tree. You can see it is a big family. My father is Jonathan, and my mother is Claire. They have three children. My brother's name is William and my sister's name is Olivia. My grandparents Jerry and Elizabeth have two sons. My uncle Mike and my aunt Sarah have a son. His name is Joseph. He is my cousin. He is four years old. We all love him very much.
