Tom began to learn to cook when he was six years old. At that time,he was ill in hospital．During the first three days there,Tom1a lot of TV cartoons and felt bored with them．Then he visited the Internet for fun．He 2an interesting website(网站)．It taught people how to cook．Tom was very3the pictures on the website and fell in love with(爱上)cooking．4he got better,Tom went back home and tried to learn to cook by himself．Tom spent most of his free time learning5to cook．He tried a lot of recipes(食谱)．

    Now after five years of6 ． Tom is a famous cook in his town．He also uses his cooking to make money7poor children in his town．He's already given them more than 10,000 dollars．He8has his own book to teach people to cook food．The book is quite popular．"When you9to do something，try your best to do it．Then you will be10one day!"said Tom．

    I was recently invited to dinner by a friend. During the meal, the manager came over and said that our meal was free. He stood there 1 at me, he seemed to know me. 2 I asked if he knew me. He laughed and said I had probably 3 him, but I had changed his life. He said that twelve years ago he was in 4 stress management class. I asked the group what their number one stress was and 5 of them, including him, said it was their 6.

    Jane waited all day for Jenny to2back the dollar she borrowed, but Jenny always seemed to be3."She just forgets about it," thought Jane." I don't want to make her angry." Still, her money didn't go4. Some classmates, like Jenny, were5five dollars a week.

    Weeks went by. At last Jane got enough courage to ask her about the money.

   "Oh Jane, I6!" Jenny said." I'll bring the dollar tomorrow." The next day Jenny seemed to have forgotten again. During the noon hour, Jane saw her buying sweets for Mary and Ann. Jenny saw Jane looking at her.7she said something in a low voice to the other two girls. Jane felt8and asked her teacher if she could go back to the classroom.

    In the classroom, Jane saw two new pencils on Jenny's desk. An9came to her," Jenny's not10recently, and anyway, she really owes (欠)me. Besides, she has money to buy more. A dollar doesn't mean anything to her, but it means a lot to me."

    My kids and I decided to go to the supermarket over the weekend. On the way, we saw a man holding a piece of paper that said, " 1 my job. Family to feed."

    At this store, a 2 like this was not normal. My 10-year-old kid noticed him and said it must be awful to have to stand 3 in the cold wind.

    This has been a wonderful 10 for our family. For days the kids have been looking for others we can 11 ! Things would have played out so 12 if I had simply said, "No, we really don't have 13 to give more. "Stepping out not only helped a father in 14 , it also gave my kids the15 taste of helping others. It'll go a long way with them.

    Like most Chinese, Mr. Zhang has a traditional family. 1 he and his wife are middle school teachers while their 6-year-old son is a pupil. Mr. Zhang's mother lives with them and helps them 2 the kid. They love one another and live a happy life.

    Yesterday it was Mr. Zhang's mother's birthday. The couple wanted to do3 to show their love for her.     As we all know, it is a good Chinese tradition to respect the old and take care of the .young. We should try our 9 to care for our family. We must visit our parents as often as possible and have a 10 with them on happiness. The phone even though we may work far away. Indeed, family is a place of happiness.

    I'd like to tell you something about my trip. First, we landed in Cape Town and took a taxi to our new friend Richard's house. We 1 there for a few nights. We did some cool things. We visited a bird and monkey park and saw many kinds of African 2 there.

    After 3 some time with Richard and his daughter, we left them to go to a place called Grootbos. 4 we were there, we saw my dad's friend Michael and we had supper together. We had fun5 Michael and staying at Grootbos. The food there was great. We really enjoyed 6. The next morning, we went to see whales and we got really 7 because we saw twelve of them. One pair came right up to the boat and rolled over on top of each other.

    From Grootbos we 8 to Cape Town to meet our friends who came to visit us on their vacation. We were both so 9 to have friends from home coming to 10 us in Africa. We spent a few days with them. It was very cool visiting Grootbos with them.
