Do you ever throw away food at home? Have you ever thought about {#blank#}1{#/blank#} happens to the food that shops and supermarkets don't sell? What's more, around 800 million people in the world do not have enough food to lead {#blank#}4{#/blank#} healthy life.

    Many people in the UK are trying to do something about this imbalance and make use {#blank#}5{#/blank#} thrown-out food that is edible (可食用的). For example, there is a cafe in Leeds whose meals are created using unsold food from supermarkets, {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (include) a lot of vegetables, fruit, fish and other items.     Litter is everywhere, doing great harm {#blank#}1{#/blank#} the environment and life on our planet. Jeff Kirschner, who wants to build a litter-free world, started a global community named Litterati {#blank#}2{#/blank#}  (settle)this problem.

    The story began with his 6-year-old daughter. One day they were going on a hike when the girl noticed a {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (break)plastic tub(浴盆)in a river. She said, “Daddy, that doesn't go there.” That took Kirschner by surprise. He, like many adults, had become so used to the rubbish around them that he hadn't given it a second look.{#blank#}4{#/blank#} his daughter said reminded him of the serious problem our planet faces.

    Jeff started to take {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(act).He created Litterati, an app that makes it fun to pick up litter. The idea is {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(fair) simple: Spot a piece of trash, take a photo, post the photo online and then put the litter into dustbins.

    {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (see)that Jeff was keeping a record of the positive impact he was having on the planet, people worldwide started participating.     It was the spring of 1943 during World War Ⅱ. Standing among hundreds of new {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(soldier)at Camp Grant, Sam, just 18 years old, waited as a truck slowly drove by. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} full field pack was randomly thrown to each soldier.

He found his last name, Litrenti, was marked on each thing in his pack. "How strange!" Sam thought. He didn't think the one {#blank#}5{#/blank#} threw the field pack to him knew who he was.

    So why was Sam's last name marked on the things? You may not believe it, but it was the field pack that his father {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(use)during World War I.

    Sam {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(certain) didn't know that when he received it. It wasn't until after the war {#blank#}8{#/blank#} he found out why.

    After the war, he talked {#blank#}9{#/blank#}that with his father. After {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (talk)for a while, Sam's father became sure that the pack once belonged to him.

    Both the father and the son couldn't believe that! What a coincidence!
