There are many traditional holidays in China.

    The Spring Festival is the most important one in China. It is as important as Christmas in the West. On the evening before Spring Festival, all the family members get together and have a big dinner.  After dinner, they watch TV and play cards while waiting for the New Year to come.

    The next one is the Lantern Festival. It falls on the 15th night of the first lunar (农历) month. People often go out to enjoy the lantern show.

    Then comes the Dragon Boat Festival. It is on the 5th lunar month. It is a festival to honor an ancient poet Qu Yuan. People often hold dragon boat competition on that day. So it is now a festival of the Chinese traditional sports.

    The next one is the Mid-Autumn Festival. It falls on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month. The whole family sit in the open air and enjoy the bright moon while they're eating moon cakes and fresh fruit.

    What is Chinatown? Is it a town in China? Of course not! It is in foreign countries. It is a 1 where many overseas (海外的)  Chinese  live together.

    Living in Chinatown is 8. You can find hospitals, schools, banks, libraries and supermarkets in it. In some schools, students must learn Chinese. Many overseas Chinese 9 their children to these schools. They want their 10to learn more about China and its culture.

    The story of how the song Happy Birthday to You came to be, began as a sweet one that later sourced. Two sisters, Mildred Hill, a teacher at the Louisville, Kentucky Experimental Kindergarten, and Dr. Patty Hill, the headmaster of the same school, together wrote a song for the children, called Good Morning to All. As the local expert on spiritual songs, and as the organist（风琴师） for her church, Mildred combined her musical talents with her sister's knowledge in the area of Kindergarten Education, Good Morning to All was sure to be a success.

    The sisters published the song in a collection named "Song Stories of the Kindergarten" in 1893.Thirty-one years later, after Dr. Patty Hill became the head of the Department of Kindergarten Education at Columbia University's Teacher College, a gentleman by the name of Robert H. Coleman published the song, without the sisters'permission. What was worse, he added a second verse（歌词） Happy Birthday to You.

    Mr. Coleman's addition of the second verse made the song become well known and, gradually, the sisters' original first verse disappeared. Happy Birthday to You, the one and only birthday song, had altogether replaced the sisters' original title Good Morning to All.

    After Mildred died in 1916, Patty, together with a third sister, Jessica, discussed the issue together and took Mr. Coleman to court（法庭）, they proved that they, indeed, owned the melody（曲调）. The court finally decided that the family legally（合法地） owns the song, whenever it is sung for commercial purposes（商业目的）.

    Dubai (迪拜) is a good place to travel to. There, you can find many tall buildings, taste lots of delicious food and experience some interesting things. Have you ever been to this city? If you go to Dubai during the summer holiday, you may see a special kind of "taxi". It is a drone (无人机). It flies in the sky by itself！ It is said that Dubai plans to use Chinese—made droes as a self —flying air taxi in July.

    The drone taxi is named EHang 184. A Chinese company(公司)made it. The city of Dubai will start using it in July. It will be the world's first passenger drone, according to Yahoo News.

    The drone taxi can fly up to 3, 500 meters high. It can fly at a top speed of 160 kilometers an hour. It can only take one person.

    How do you call an EHang1842 You use its app(应用程序) on your phone. When the drone comes, you choose the place you want to go to on a touch screen. There is no pilot in the drone. But some people on the ground will be watching it. They will make sure your trip is safe. You don't have to worry about it.

    Mary likes to run. Ever since she was in the third grade, she has been training to run long distances. Now that she was in her eighth grade, her parents agreed to let her run in the Banana Classic. The Banana Classic is a ten-kilometre race. It takes place every year in Mattydale. The winners get a lifetime supply (提供) of peanuts and fruit juice.

    Mary practised by running ten kilometres, twice every day. On the average (平时的) run, she would finish in thirty minutes. Last year's winner finished the race in twenty-six minutes and ten seconds!

    On the day of the race, Mary ran faster than she ever had in the past. As she came across the last kilometre, she was in the fourth place. She picked up the pace (步伐) and quickly reached the second place, just as she could see the finishing line. She ran as fast as she could in a mad dash (冲刺) to the finish line, but she just wasn't fast enough to get ahead of the leader.
