    I can't swim so I have a strong fear of water. Look back at my childhood, I think that three reasons might explain fear. Firstly, I am not allowed to go near the water when I was a child, as my mother had an unreasonable fear of it. Therefore, I was taught to see to the water as something danger. Secondly, my eyes became bad when I was five. If I took off my glass in the water, I couldn't see something, and this increased my fear. What's worse, for a child I once saw a neighbor drowned.     Recently, our school has held the meaningful discussion on whether it is reasonable for middle school students to have classes on weekends. Some of our classmates believe we should have classes on weekends because we can make fully use of the free time to review the lessons we had learnt. They have the view which keeping the balance between work and play are important for us.     My favorite sport is playing basketball. In  middle school, I joined in the basketball team. All the teammate practised bard after school. Once our school had match against another school. At the very beginning, we were so nervous which we couldn't cooperate very good, because this was the first time for us to compete for the school honor. In the half match they fell behind. Our leader calls us together and said that we must get uniting to beat them. Then we tried our best and won the game on last. Play basketball makes me realize the importance of union and team work.

    Breaking traffic rules and littering are common in these days, caused serious harm to life and the environment. Changing this situation required everyone's effort. As for me, I'll keep traffic law in mind all the way to school. If I ride the bicycle, I'll always keep to the right and never cross a road when the traffic light turns green. If l walk, I'll never forget to use thepedestrian crossing. However, I'll regard that as my duty to help keep our environment clean. Not only I keep from littering and spitting anywhere, I'll also help clean up the roadside litter whenever possibly.

    The best gift I have ever received is a hand-made calendar. It was made up by my best friend Jane, with who I have so much in common. On each page of the calendar, there is the picture of us with some word written by Jane. She either tells me what she feels about our friendship or encourages me try my best and live a happy life. Whenever I look at the calendar, I am touched by something warmly, and my heart is filling with love. This gift is a memory of the wonderful time I spend with Jane in junior high school and I will keep them forever.
