Dear headmaster,

On hearing the news that a Reading Festival is to be held on campus on the World Book and Copyright Day and the possible project is open to be recommended, I hardly wait to write to you, sharing my humble opinions.

As far as I'm concerned, the theme of the festival can be “sharing”, primarily (consist) of three parts. Firstly, the festival can start with a 30-minute discussion where groups of students can exchange and share what they (expose) to recently, expressing themselves freely. Following this section is the speech. Teacher and student representatives previously selected by us are to share and recommend the book they think really deserving to be read. It's needless to say that the last sharing section which is the most meaningful is donation, during time everyone present, teachers or students, is expected to donate one or more books to the library. As for when (hold) the activity, the afternoon may be an ideal choice so that it won't interrupt our classes.

My advice is justified by the following reasons. First and foremost, it is in the group discussion and exchange that we students can have a thorough idea our peers are reading for the moment, serving as a driving force for our own reading journey. So it is the books recommended. Named by those “idols” in our mind, they will definitely win our heart. As for the donation, the benefits are exactly self-evident. can we share beyond our class or even beyond our school, developing a good campus tradition, but (importantly), these books which are sure to be dusted on our shelves can now be of more value.

I'm looking forward to your favorable reply. And is my sincere hope that the festival can be a great success and we can gain a lot from it.

Yours,

Amy Young

Sometimes our emotions can seem to defeat us. When this happens, {#blank#}1{#/blank#}is possible to give people the wrong {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(impress) or do something we regret. Learning to express your emotions effectively will allow you to communicate clearly and carefully, without hurting those around you or{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(make) the situation worse. So it's important to learn to express emotions.

Firstly, you need to learn how to express your angry feelings. Anger can cause you to say things you regret, so sometimes you should control your angry feelings. If you're afraid of saying something that hurts someone, then try to think{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(care) before you speak. Also, you can write down your angry thoughts as if you were shouting it out to the world. This allows you{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(express) your anger.

Secondly, it's necessary to learn to express sadness. Sadness is particularly hard to deal{#blank#}6{#/blank#}, especially when people can see you are sad. But you needn't hide it. Instead, try talking about {#blank#}7{#/blank#}is making you sad. It doesn't matter if you cry, as it has proved that crying can reduce stress. What's more, if you feel your secrets are safe in your dairy, then write down what{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(upset) you.

Learning to express worry is also important. If you're worried about a friend or a loved one, talk to them about your worry. This could give you some peace of mind. Also, you can choose an activity {#blank#}9{#/blank#}you are interested in and spend some time doing it. The less you think about the problem, the {#blank#}10{#/blank#}you will worry.

Monkeys do not like it when others get more food {#blank#}1{#/blank#} they do, according to a new study.

Researchers from Yale and Harvard universities found Capuchin monkeys punish monkeys {#blank#}2{#/blank#} get more food. "This sort of, 'If I can't have it, no one can' response is because {#blank#}3{#/blank#} psychological spite (怨恨), and it was{#blank#}4{#/blank#} (previous) thought unique to humans," said Kristin Leimgruber of Harvard University. She is a co-author of the research study. The researchers watched as some Capuchin monkeys {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (give) more food than others. They found that monkeys getting the {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (small) share pulled a rope to fold up a table holding the other monkey's bigger share.

Another lead researcher, Laurie Santas, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (explain) over email, "I think what we can conclude about humans is that some of our more embarrassing tendencies have relatively deep {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (root)." Santos said the spiteful response was not present with another member of the ape species—chimpanzees(黑猩猩).

An earlier study, she said, showed chimpanzees would fold up the table of other chimpanzees {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (steal) food from them. But they would not punish chimpanzees who just happened {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (have) more food, Santos said. In other words, it was fine if another chimpanzee had more food as long as they did not steal it.
