Today, we turn smart phones into magical machines with apps that transform them into musical instruments or business machines or video players.       Networking expert Open Signal has discovered something interesting: the sensors in Android phones designed to measure battery  temperature, light, pressure and 80 on can be used to generate surprisingly accurate weather reports. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}

       Detecting illegal logging(盗伐) may sound like a novel app, {#blank#}3{#/blank#}: in Indonesia, the non-profit organization Rainforest Connection' wants to use donated Android phones to detect illegal logging. As Newscientist reports, “The phonesare equipped with solar panels specifically designed to take advantage of the brief periods when light reaches the forest floor. Their microphones stay on at all time, and the software listens for the sound of a chainsaw(链锯).”

        Researchers at the university of Illinois have developed an iPhones app that turns the phone into a fully featured mobile medical lab that uses the phone's camera to detect proteins, bacteria, viruses and other organisms.

You're sharpest in your 20's; around 30, mental abilities begin to decline, particularly your ability to do maths.{#blank#}2{#/blank#} Your vocabulary at age 45, for example, is three times as great as when you graduated from college. At 60, your brain possesses almost four times as much information as it did at age 21.

Before age 24, we believe that our happiest years are yet to come. Over 30, we believe that they're behind us. More candidates, less bonus points

    The Ministry of Education said in March that it would remove some preferential provisions (优惠的规定) that award bonus points to some students' total score. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

    According to the statement, no bonus points will be awarded for exceptional sports ability, w inning academic Olympiads or science and technology competitions.

    Reforms of the enrollment (录取) process {#blank#}2{#/blank#}Key universities and others will be combined into the same round of enrollment to provide more choices for different students. Tianjin, Guangdong and Liaoning will adopt the reforms this year.

    There will be 2,311 new majors to choose this year, many of which are oriented toward science and technology's new front—big data and artificial intelligence.

    Ban on publicity of top scorers

    In recent years, over-emphasis or even hype (炒作) of the top scorers and highest enrollment rate received negative reviews. This year, the ministry published a notice which stressed its firm stance (立场) of banning the practice before the exam. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}

Limit time you spend on news.

Stay aware of recent events. But don't spend hours consuming news, which usually includes negative stories and events.

Since happiness is a choice, why not choose it ? Life will look brighter filled with love and joy!
