One country (国家) that I really want to visit is Vietnam. In fact, I‘ve never been to Asia (亚洲). But I‘ve seen a lot of photos and videos of Vietnam online and it looks really beautiful. I think I can take relaxing boat rides around the small islands there. Also, I've heard that the food there is really nice!

The country I‘d most like to visit is England. I‘ve heard many things about it because my parents went there on their honeymoon (蜜月). And they have very good memories about the country. Besides that, I can speak some English, so it would be nice to get in some practice there.

I‘d like to visit New Zealand when I have time. New Zealand looks like a gorgeous country. The Lord of the Rings, one of my favorite films, was filmed there. I‘ve never been south (南) of the equator (赤道), so I wish to visit New Zealand one day!

If I could visit any country in the world, I‘d like to go to Canada. I‘m from America, and Canada is our neighbor to the north (北). I have many Canadian friends. I‘d really like to see their country for the first time!

People around the world work together to help our planet on Earth Day, April 22. But in fact, lots of people protect the Earth all year long. They are Earth heroes(英雄). And some kids do, too. We have four kids here, telling you that you can help even if you are a child.

Saving the frogs

John is from the USA. He always loves frogs. When John was 5, he learned their living places were in danger. So John started a group, For the Love of Frogs. They sold toy frogs to collect money to help frogs. John is now 10 and the group has more than $ 20,000 to protect frogs!

Growing right

Mandy lives in a city in India. She saw a wasteland near her house at 15. She turned it into a garden. She used native plants that lived or grew around her city. Native plants could make insects like butterflies and animals come to her area.

Mandy is now 18. She is teaching people about native plants." The way to reuse the wasteland is not just to plant any tree," she said." It is to make sure that you grow the right plants in the area."

Cleaning up

Zhang Min, 13, and Zhang Jie, 15, live in a city in China. To fight plastic pollution, they made a plan. They wanted to clean up plastic waste in the Pearl River.

Zhang Min and Zhang Jie put up posters at school to make people care more about plastic waste." You need to have people talk to one another," Zhang Jie said," Everyone can do something to help."

Jing Baoshan is 69 years old. He lives a quite special life in Pinglu, Shanxi. Jing's given name, "Baoshan", means "protecting (保护) the mountains".

In 1970, 18-year-old Jing joined the People's Liberation Army of China, and then he worked in the Tanggula Mountains for 17 years. In 1987, Jing returned to his hometown in Pinglu and became a forest ranger (护林员). He loved the forest and said the trees were all his children.

Jing patrolled (巡查) the forest once a week. He took a hatchet (手斧) to protect himself from dangerous animals during the 30-km walking. At the lookout tower (塔), he also used a telescope (望远镜) to watch the forest once an hour and reported to his workmates every three days. He wrote his diary under a candle and talked to stars when he felt lonely (孤独的).

Jing retired (退休) in 2012. During his 25 years of service, Jing helped fight forest fires many times. There was a forest fire in 2000. Unluckily, four villagers died. He cried (哭) sadly and decided to protect the forest for the rest (剩下的) of his life. Jing didn't leave the forest after he retired. He kept protecting it as a volunteer (志愿者).

For many people, their first plane trip is not very good. The following will help you have a good trip.

The first and most important thing is to be EARLY! Call the airport 4 hours earlier and make sure that the flight (航班) is still on time. Get to the airport 2 hours early. This will give you much time to get your boarding pass (登机证) and pass the security check (安检).

Be sure to take something to chew (咀嚼) when you are in the air. Taking a book with you can help you kill your flight time. You also need to take some special things like glasses or medicine, because you may need them on your trip. Take the ID card and enough money with you. Because you need them when having a trip.

When you get on the plane, make sure that you are in the right seat. Don' t be afraid when the plane is taking off (起飞). Take-off may be a difficult part of your trip. When it is over, you can release (解开) your seat belt (安全带), and you can go to the lavatory (卫生间) if you want.

Dogs are really man's best friends. They have special smell. A new study said that dogs can smell if people are feeling stressed. Teachers at Queen's University, the UK, made the study. They got breath(呼吸) and sweat(汗) from people both before and after doing a hard maths problem. They looked at people's heart rate(心率), blood pressure(血压) and stress feeling in the study. Dogs can smell the differences in breath and sweat from people. Then they can know when people are stressed. 

The finding is wonderful: Dogs found stress in 675 of the 720 people. " They could be 93. 75% right!" Australian News reported. The study's writer Clara Wilson said, " Stress can change people's breath and sweat. Dogs are very good at smelling these changes. " In the study, she also said, " This finding helps us learn that how dogs may know people's feelings. "

This finding shows how special the bond is between people and dogs. The finding also tells us that dogs are very clever. And maybe dogs can help stressed people.
