At only 12, Milton Hershey finished school and began (工作) for a candy maker in Lancaster. There, he learned how to make candy (产品). Then he moved to Philadelphia to set up a candy shop. But he couldn't make it. So he (返回) to Lancaster and made caramels in his own way. Luckily, with (新鲜的) milk, he made it.

In 1893, he bought chocolate-making machines made in a (欧洲的) country. He was developing an unusual plan. (不久), he bought a town. After several years, he (建造) his chocolate factory. He found a way to make a lot of milk chocolate. The Hershey Candy Company was on its way to be (成功的).

Today, in the town of Hershey, the streetlights look like a candy. At Hershey Chocolate World, (游客) can learn how chocolate is made. This special town (把. . . 叫做) itself"The Sweetest Place on Earth".

One (四月), a girl (行走) into the forest, and she (摘) some flowers. It was very dark, (不久) she was (送路). It was (困难的) to get out of the forest. She (开始) to cry. "The face was from two different photos, and the body was from a different photo, " said Kelli Pearson. "It's a piece of art. I'd like to (享受)  his beautiful smile." The picture only stayed in the park for some days, (穿过) from the river, but it was very popular on the Internet.

Kobe Bryant was an (极好的) basketball player. He started to play basketball when he was very (幼小的). And he played for 20 (年) with the Los Angeles Lakers. Kobe worked very hard and was one of the world's top basketball players.

In 2016, Kobe (离开) the NBA.  He tried many new things. He wrote his first book, The Mamba Mentality: How I Play.  (以后), he wrote a poem(诗) called "Dear Basketball" and it was made into a short cartoon movie.

Unluckily, he lost his life in an air crash(空难) in California on January 26, 2020. His fans were very sad about it and (想念) him very much.

Friendship and kindness go hand in hand. A friendship can last forever when friends are kind to each other. People usually become friends because they have something in . (普通的；常见的)

They (分享)many of the same interests and like to be (在一起). It is easy to be a friend when (每一件事) is going well. but :a true friend is one who sticks around in (两个；两个都)the goori times and the bad times. A good friend will (欢呼；喝彩) you up when you are in a bad mood(心情). Show a friend your (在意；关心)Ask the other person" What can I do to help you?" and be willing to do it.

Listen to your friends. Be honest and tell then: what is wrong if they have (受伤) you. Send award, give then a little (礼物)or call then on the phone just to say." I value(重视；珍视)on friendship." If you are a friend to others, they will usually be a friend to you. There is no doubt(疑问)that friend make life (更好的).

Kids under 14 are too young to play tackle （擒抱摔倒） football. They will get hurt （容易地） when playing. But flag football is a safer（安全） sport. Here's how kids play it. Every player wears a special thing. There are flags on it. The opponents （对手） try to stop the player who gets the football and take away one of his or her flags.

Danny Lee is going into the fifth grade. He wants to（参加） the school football club. But his dad has a different（想法）. "I have friends who（从不） want their kids to play tackle football, " Peter Lee says. He wants Danny to play flag football.

Sophie Smith is 14. Now she is （战斗） for a club in Nevada. She likes flag football. She says it is more （令人兴奋的） than tackle football. Sophie's mom （担心） about her daughter's safety. What sport do you often do in your free time? I do lots of sports such as basketball, running, swimming and so on. I (尤其) love playing basketball. I am on the school team. This year we are going to play (和…比赛) a team from another school. We dare(敢) to say we will (打败) them because we are (训练) more carefully and much (努力地). Last year we (输) to them in the final match. Our (教练) who has a round face is friendly and always encourages us never give up. He also repeats(重复) some difficult skills so that we can do better next time. We spend (大量) of time practising this year.

  I often watch basketball matches on TV to learn how to play better. Last night, there was a basketball match between the German team and the Chinese team. At last, the Chinese team won the match. All the Chinese fans shouted (大声地) with pleasure. We were proud to see the Chinese national flag rising in the (体育场).

Amy wood, an eleven-year-old schoolgirl, is full of  (想法). She always found some interesting shop games to play with her friends when she was a small child. Now she is making the game  (真实的) after opening her own shop at the (年龄) of eleven.

Amy is the Britain's youngest  (人) to have a shop. She runs a shop that sells clothes for pets. She even teaches  (她自己) how to make clothes. The schoolgirl can balance(平衡) running the store with her schoolwork  (容易地) . "I love being my own boss and it is  (有乐趣的) to work.” Amy told BBC. "I will make enough money to pay for me to study. I don't （感觉）like I'm giving up my free time or weekends and I （几乎不）feel tired because I love the work so much.” said Amy.

Where can you learn the skill of climbing? If you think that you have to go to the (山) to learn how to climb, you're wrong. Many people are learning to climb in the city (体育场). Here, people learn about (使人兴奋的) climbing activities.

   How do people climb the wall? To climb, you need (特殊的)shoes and a harness around your chest to hold you. The harness holds you in place so that you don't fall. Then you will get some professional (训练). A beginner's wall is usually about 15 feet high. There are small pieces of metal that stick out for you to stand on and hold on to. The most difficult point is to overcome your fear. It's (合乎常理的) for humans to be afraid of falling. But when you move away from the wall, the ropes hold you, and you begin to feel safe and (自信的）. You move slowly until you reach the top.

  Climbing attracts people because  it's good (锻炼）for almost everyone. You use your whole body, (尤其）your arms and legs. When you climb, both your mind and your body can become stronger and (更好的）.

School children wrote letters to keep in (接触) with each other in the past. But now it's very easy for them to do that with the help of mobile phones. They (也) use it to listen to music, play games, (购物) online and many other things. Some even can't go to bed (没有) their mobile phones.

For (父母亲), mobile phones help them to know where their children are and keep them (安全). But they (担心) that children communicate too much with their friends. Teachers think mobile phones are (有害) for school children because they don't listen to teachers in class and they use mobile phones to read stories or watch （电影). Most children think mobile phones bring them a lot of (乐趣) like their friends.

It's a nice winter day. The sun is ( 照耀)brightly in the sky. The trees and  flowers are covered with snow, just like wearing a ( 银色的 )coat. Everyone is happy because the Christmas (旺季) is coming in December, the (第十二) month of the year. They can't wait to go out to the street. They look at different(招牌) in front of the shops to find something they want. Children are running and singing on the street happily with colorful( 旗子 ).

However, an old man called David is unhappy. He  is  Canadian  and  now  he lives (独自地) in the US. Last year, he prepared and (摆放) some biscuits and candies on the table to welcome the children around here, but this year he is sick and he doesn't think he can( 继 续 ) to do that. To his surprise, the children form a(乐队) to celebrate the festival for him. David is so moved. Friends get together and sing songs happily. They do this for fun and bring the spirit of Christmas to the people in the house.
