Teenage diver(跳水运动员) Quan Hongchan set the women's 10-meter platform final alight at the Tokyo Olympics in Japan on Thursday. At the final round, she scored  (完美的) 10s in three of her five dives to win the (金色的) medal. The (十四)-year-old girl is the event's youngest athlete and also the youngest member of Team China.

The baby-faced Quan, the latest prodigy(神童) of China's diving training system, rarely made a ripple in the water during her final (表现) and got 466.2 points, followed by teammate Chen Yuxi with 425.40 and Australia's Mellisa Wu with 371.40.

Born in a small village in South China's Guangdong (省), the reason why Quan chose to become an athlete is heartbreaking — she wanted to win  (奖项) as early as possibleto help her seriously ill mother. Her calmness impressed reporters during her interview after the event, "I was a little nervous but not very, just a little bit." Quan said, " I don't feel different competing at the Olympics compared to the (国家的) championships. I just did my routines and tried to execute my dives the way my coach told me to." Quan said her parents had previously "told me that it doesn't matter  (是否)I get a medal or not and to just be myself". "Those words really helped me," Quan (补充说), saying she planned to eat latiao, a popular Chinese street (零食), to celebrate tonight.

Stan Lee, original name Stanley Martin Lieber, was (出生) in New York City in 1922. At the age of 17, he got a job at Timely Comics, the company that later developed into Marvel. There he (精确地) learned writing duties and penning superhero stories.

When Dambo was a boy, he enjoyed (build) things like tree houses. But Dambo had no money (buy) the materials he needed. So he would bike around his neighborhood looking for trash that he (recycle) for his" big projects".

That childhood hobby (have) now become a career(职业) for Dambo. Today, you can find Dambo's "trash" structures all over the world.

Boyan Slat has one huge goal. It's a goal that could be good for people and a all over the world. Amazingly, it looks like he's going to m his goal.

When he was 16, Dutch engineering student Slat was on vacation in Greece, and he started to think about all the rubbish that is p onto beaches by water. The oceans around the world are all of plastic—millions of tons of plastic. Unfortunately, plastic doesn't just disappear. It takes c to break down(分解).

The p situation of the oceans is bad and worrying and Slat wanted to do something to change it. So he made it a personal goal to clean up the rubbish in the world's oceans.

Slat started with an idea for an unusual m to "catch" the plastic floating(漂浮) in the water using the natural energy of the ocean. He left school in 2013 to begin work on his project The Ocean Cleanup. Soon, the project r a lot of attention.

A year later, he was leading a team of 100 scientists and engineers working on the invention. Slat needed money for this, so he started asking people to d to his project online and raised over $2 million!

Soon after, Slat was named a "Champion of the Earth" by the United Nations for his meaningful and v work. It's the most important title the UN gives to people helping the environment. The Ocean Cleanup also won several awards (奖项) for having one of the best inventions of 2015. But the d goes on for Slat. He hopes that the oceans will be free of plastic in about twenty or thirty years.
