    Traffic lights are very important to us. I think everyone knows this. But how were they born? Do you know?

    Garrett A. Morgan was the father of traffic lights. He was American. Morgan was born in 1875. His family was very poor. He left (离开) school at the age of 14. He was very clever. He always looked for better ways to do things. And he liked to make new things. At that time, every American wanted to have a car. Streets were full of cars. The traffic was not good. "Why not put three lights at each street crossing? They should be red, yellow and green," Morgan said, "Let them tell cars to go or stop." So he made a timer (定时器) to change the lights. Now we have traffic lights on the streets.

    There are many holidays and festivals. Dads have Father's Day. Children have Children's Day. Is there a special day for old people?

    Double Ninth Festival is a special day for old people in China. It started long ago. The festival is on lunar September 9th. This year it is on October 25th. On this day, people show love for their grandparents.

    People do many different kinds of things on this day. They enjoy flowers, eat special cakes and rink wine (酒).

    It's very interesting. The best way to celebrate it is climbing hills or mountains. People think climbing will bring them good luck and help old people live long lives. Double Ninth Festival is also a good time for a family get-together. And young people give their presents and best wishes to the old.

    With the change of different seasons, people will need different kinds of clothes.

     So at this time of year, people often wear something such as shirts, coats and pants.  It is very cold in the last two months. And people should wear warm and heavy clothes. Jackets, sweaters, hats and gloves can also keep people away from the cold weather.  In spring, the weather changes again and gets nice and warm. People begin to wear cool clothes.  It gets very hot in July and august.  They are both what you need in the hot sunny season.

    Do you think of your parents? "Yes, of course." you may 1, "I buy a present for my mother on 2. And I give my father a present on Father's Day, too." Then what about 3 days of a year? Always 4 to think of your parents, not just on some 5 days.

    The weather of England often changes. It can  rainy, sunny, cloudy, windy, warm, foggy or cold at any time of year. If it's  when you get up in the morning, it can be hot and sunny in the afternoon.

    In England, shops are usually open  9:00 in the morning to 5:30 in the afternoon.  Sundays some shops are open from 10:00 a. m. to 4:00 p.m. But most shops are closed. Banks, museums (博物馆) or other places are open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You can  to the parks at any time.

    All the cities have  , trains and taxis (出租车) . People wait in line (排队等候)  for buses and they will not be  if you come to the front from the end of the line. Don't forget that, traffic goes on the .
