    I have been in love with China since 2010.

    After one year in Zhejiang University,I got a great1—to work as an assistant manager in a big hotel.The best part of this job was that I was the only2,so I got a good chance to understand Chinese culture and practice my3.

    Actually,I have got 4I supposed to.I have got valuable experience,devoted friends and the feeling that I am not laowai anymore.

    The waiters and managers were not only my teachers,but14my friends.If I needed help,they were15to help me.I enjoyed our small conversations16they were kind and educated.I was very proud and happy of the fact that all of them17me and I don't feel18anymore.

    The best part of my job was to see people coming19the hotel.When they recognized me,they20share their adventures,burdens,even thoughts with me.It means the world to me.I spent there 8 months and it was a period when I was proud to be who I am.

    Today marks the one-year anniversary of my father's death.Looking back at the past year,I cannot describe how hard it has been for me mentally and physically.

    For a long time I suffered in silence.I felt as if I was running in circles（圆圈）.I kept my tears to my sleep and my loneliness in my bedroom.

After my father's death,I began channeling all that pain into dance.But as a fairly new dancer,I haven't had too much stage experience.I recently performed at my school's winter concert for one of my classmates who is dealing with a rare illness.I dedicated（献上）the dance to her and my father.I only had one week.I was so anxious that I felt like I was having a heart attack.

    Luckily,my best friends came to my aid.What they said to me was one of the kindest things anyone has ever said.I will never forget what one of them said:"You are so beautiful because of your heart and beautiful mind.You have more kindness than some will ever have.I saw how much that dance meant to you,especially how it connected with your memories.It made me cry,that is how incredible you are."

Just surround yourself with people like my friend who will never think little of you.I am so proud of how much I've achieved and I know I will keep going,just as my father would have wished.

    New research has found that even if you give up smoking,the damage it has done to your genes（基因）will stay there for a much longer time.

    In the research,a team of US scientists studied the blood of 16,000 people.Among them,some were smokers,some used to smoke,and the rest were non-smokers.Scientists compared their genes and found that more than 7,000 genes of smokers had changed-a number that is one-third of known human genes.

    According to NBC News,both heart disease and cancer are caused by genetic changes.Some people may have had the changes when they were born,but most people get them in their day-to-day lives while doing things like  smoking.

When you stop smoking,a lot of these genes will return to normal within five years.This means your body is trying to heal（治愈）itself of the harmful effects of smoking.But the changes in some of the genes stay for longer.They can stay for as long as 30 years.It's almost like leaving a footprint on wet cement（水泥）一it will always be there, even when you've walked away and when the cement becomes dry.

    Although the study results may make people unhappy,there is a bright side: the findings could help scientists invent medicine to treat genetic damage caused by smoking or find ways to tell which people have heart disease or cancer ricks.

    For many people,being on the job might just sound like a picnic compared to a day at home filled with housework,meals and childcare.Even for those with a happy family life,home can sometimes feel more taxing than work.

    In a new study,researchers at Penn State University found significantly and consistently lower levels of cortisol（皮质醇）released in response to stress,in a majority of subjects when they were at work compared to when they were at home.This was true for both men and women,and parents and people without children.

    Both men and women showed less stress at work.But women were more likely to report feeling happier there. Men were more likely to feel happier at home.Experts say there are other reasons why work is less stressful than home for many."Paid work is more valued in society,"says Sarah Damaske,the lead researcher on the study. "Household work is boring and not particularly rewarding."

    We get better at our job with time and the increased competence means less stress and more rewards.Yet none of us,no matter how long we've been doing it,ever truly feels like an expert at parenting or even at marriage.

    The support and friendship of co-workers also offer stress relief.At home,meanwhile,stress spreads and accumulates（积累）quickly."That's the reason why most housewives wish they were the bread earners,"Dr.Damaske says.

    Much of the advice to families and couples include the warning to "leave work stress at the office" and even to change our mind-set from work to home,for example,a walk around the block.The recent findings,though,suggest  our home life,not our attitude,might be due for some change.

    We face problems in our everyday life.Don't worry.As long as you are breathing,you can solve problems.

Be aware of problem

    First of all,it is important to know and understand the problem clearly..Following questions like why,what, how,when,where and who will take you to the root cause of the problem.

Analyze the problem

    Analyzing the problem will give you time to think of a proper solution..They can be diagrams（图表）, flowcharts or a lists,etc.

Plan a strategy（策略）

    Planning a strategy will help you waste less energy and time in attempting all the solutions.This step includes knowing the advantages and disadvantages of applying a solution.In this way,you can abandon the strategy that you don't find worthy to apply.

    Leave out the information that is not required for the solving of the problem.You need to be accurate with the details.Keeping the unrelated information can sometimes complicate the simple problems as we tend to overlook the important information.

Carry out the solution

    Putting the solution into effect in a correct way to get the result expected is important while solving a problem. You need to be creative while actualizing（实施）a solution just in case some other problem arises while applying the solution.

A.Remove unrelated information.

B.You can use various tools to study the problem.

C.Use yes or no questions to get better information.

D.Knowing the problem means solving half the problem itself.

E.They can be social problems,relationship problems,or problems at work.

F.Being ready with alternatives is also important in case a solution works only half way.

G.Spend 10% of the time analyzing the problem and 90% on the solution,not the opposite.

    While (wait) for the airplane to take off,I was happy to get a seat by myself. Just then,  air hostess approached me and asked,"Would you mind (change) your seat?A couple would like to sit together."The only possible seat was next to a girl with her arms in casts（石膏绷带）,a black and blue face,and a sad (express)."No way am I going to sit there,"I thought (immediate).But a soft voice spoke,"She needs help."Finally,I decided to move to that seat.The girl was named Kathy.She was hurt in a car accident and now was her way to treatment. When the snacks and juice arrived,it did not take me long to realize Kathy would not be able to feed herself.I considered necessary to feed her but hesitated,as it seemed too impolite to offer a service to a stranger.But then I realized that Kathy's need was more important than my discomfort.I offered (help) her eat, and although she was uncomfortable to accept,she did as I expected.We became closer and closer in a short period of time.By the end of the five-hour trip,we had become friends.Love sometimes flows beyond human borders and (remove) the tear that keeps us separate.When we offer to serve another,we grow to live in a larger and more rewarding world.
