Boys and girls, This term is over. Here are some words for you. Please take your note （短笺） home and let your parents know how great you are. Remember to bring it back with your parents' words next term. 

Wang Hai: You are a clever boy. You won the math competition this term in our school. Nextterm, please pay attention to （注意） your weight （体重） and keep doing sports to keep healthy. 

Han Yan:I believe you are the most popular girl in our class. You are so outgoing that everyone wants to be your friend. Listen to the teacher carefully and try to improve your English. 

Hu Fang:You sing so beautifully. We all like to listen to your singing. Don't be shy, and try to sing in front of us. Also, work hard on your math, and maybe Wang Hai can help you. 

Sun Hua:P. E. is your favorite. You're always a star at the sports meeting. But I think Chinese is also important. The more you read, the more you will learn. 

As Ginni Bazlinton reached Antarctica, she was greeted by a group of little Gentoo penguins (企鹅) who seemed happy to say hello. These lovely penguins welcomed and started a trip that Ginni would never forget. 

Ginni, now 71, has had a deep love for travel when she was young. As a professional dancer she travelled around the UK, but always hoped to find more. When she retired from dancing,  ★ 

After taking a degree at Chichester University in Related Arts, Ginni began to travel around the world and found a job teaching English in Japan and Chile. It was in Chile she discovered she could get a cheap ticket going to Antarctica from the islands off Tierra del Fuego, "I just decided I wanted to go." she says. "I had no idea about what I'd find there and I wasn't nervous. I just wanted to do it. And I wanted to do it alone as I always love it that way."

In March 2008, Ginni boarded a ship to begin the journey to Antarctica with 48 passengers. "From seeing the wildlife to enjoying sunrises, the whole experience was wonderful. Antarctica is better than any other place," Ginni says. "I remember the first time I saw a humpback whale (座头鲸): it just rose out of the water like some prehistoric creature (生物) and I thought it was smiling at us. You could still hear the beautiful sound it was making underwater."

The realization that Antarctica is a valuable and important land which needs to be respected (尊敬) by humans is the biggest thing for Ginni.

The Underwater Museum of Art (MUSA) in Mexico attracts lots of tourists from different countries every year because it always holds a very popular public art show every year. What's more, it's the largest museum of its kind in the world.

People built the museum in 2009 and it opened to tourists one year later. It's not like a traditional museum, and it's an environmental one to protect sea life. There are over 500 different sculptures ( 雕塑) in MUSA. These sculptures changed as they became the home to sea life.

There are three galleries (艺术长廊) in MUSA. The Machones Gallery is about 8 meters deep with around 470 sculptures. The Punta Nizuc Gallery is about 4 meters deep with 33 sculptures. It is close to most of the hotels. There's also a third gallery called the Punta Sam Gallery. And it's as deep as the Punta Nizuc Gallery. 

Visitors can enjoy the art show and get close to local sea life when they swim or dive (潜水) around the museum. If you don't want to get wet, you can still visit the underwater museum—just buy a ticket of a glass boat tour. If you get there, you will have a great time.

Red is the color of China. Of all the colors, red is the easiest one to see in China. People call it China Red. Chinese people{#blank#}1{#/blank#}. (attract) by the color red because it makes Chinese people feel excited. And it means a lot to them.

You may wonder{#blank#}2{#/blank#}. Chinese people love the color more than any other people around the world. Red {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (mean) respect for power which was full of mystery in the past centuries. Today, it stands for luck, health, happiness, peace, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (wealthy) and so on. It is{#blank#}5{#/blank#} everlasting character for both the nation and {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (it)people. So China uses color red in the way that no other country has ever used in the world.

It is not difficult {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (find) red-colored objects in China. Things with the color can {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (easy) be seen everywhere. The walls of ancient palaces, the lion dances, lanterns, and even tanghulu are filled{#blank#}9{#/blank#} the red tradition. They all have played special roles in the development of China

Do you know the lion dance? It's part of traditional Chinese culture. People often perform in the night 1 the Chinese New Year. They also perform it for other happy occasions（时刻）. The lion dance is believed to 2 good luck and success. 

There are many different stories about how the lion dance 3 . One of them is like this! Hundreds of years ago, a monster called Nian came to a village in China. The villagers were 4 . Luckily, a lion chased（追逐）Nian away. A year later, Nian came back again, 5 this time the lion couldn't help. The villagers had to 6 themselves. Their "lion" danced, jumped and chased Nian away. For this 7 , people began to perform the lion dance before the Spring Festival to chase bad luck away. 

There are two different kinds of lion dances. In the southern lion dance, the dancers try. 8 to perform like a real lion. Their "lion" may shake its body. The dance can be funny. The other kind is the 9 lion dance. It has more martial（军事的）art skills like rolling and jumping. Both the southern and northern kinds are very interesting to watch, but it takes a lot of 10 to perform well. Both kinds are considered to be traditional performing arts of China. 

Pinyin is a modern {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. It was invented in 1958 to help illiterate(不识字的) Chinese to learn how to read. It worked out quite well. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} people learned to read quickly with the help of pinyin.

 Pinyin has been used in other ways, too. It helps to develop the use of Standard Chinese, or Mandarin(普通话), so that people who speak different dialects(方言) can understand each other. It also makes it . much {#blank#}3{#/blank#} to type Chinese characters on computers and cellphones.

 Pinyin is also finding its place in other languages. The Oxford English Dictionary now{#blank#}4{#/blank#} more than 100 pinyin expression, such as jiaozi for" dumpings" and zhongguomeng for" Chinese dream".

 Foreign media sometimes use pinyin in reporting about China.

 Now, pinyin is not only a language {#blank#}5{#/blank#}, but also a cultural bridge that connects China to the world.
