The Lost Thing is a famous film. It's a story about a young man and a teapot(茶壶). The young man often wears a pair of glasses. He likes collecting bottle caps when he's travelling around the world. One day, he takes an old train to the beach. He finds a strange red teapot. It is about 4 metres tall. He doesn't know anything about it. But the teapot is very friendly to him. It kicks a colourful ball to the man and they play with the ball all the afternoon. When all the people on the beach leave, nobody takes the teapot away. 

When the sun goes down, the young man starts to know that his friend, the teapot, doesn't have an owner(主人). He thinks, "It might be a lost thing. "He wants to know more about the red teapot, so he picks it up and wants to help it find its owner. Will the teapot find its owner? It's a secret.

I'm David. When I was 13, my parents decided that I should go to England to improve my English. I had never been to other countries before, so I felt a little worried. My parents prepared everything for my journey. My plane was due(预定) to leave at 9:30 am and arrive in two hours. I phoned the English family who I would stay with and they told me they would wait for me at the airport.

Unluckily my plane to London was delayed(推迟). I tried to phone the English family again but I couldn't speak to them because they had already left home for the airport.

When I arrived in London, it was already 1:30 pm. I went to get my luggage(行李) but I couldn't find it. I became very worried. Luckily, the airport workers were very helpful and efficient. I didn't wait long — they found it 10 minutes later.

My English family were quite kind. I learned a lot of English because I spent most of the days talking in English. I played computer games with the little boy in my English family. I also taught him how to play chess. Sometimes I told him stories I learned from my family.

I missed my family during my stay in London, but I also felt sad when my stay came to an end. My English family held a party for me. I enjoyed it very much. I'll never forget that summer in London! It is one of the most wonderful experiences I've ever had.

It's 8：00 am. A new term(学期)begins. This is the first class. 

Betty's new teacher comes into the classroom. She is a nice girl. "Good morning, boys and girls. Welcome to Class 3, Grade 7. I'm your English teacher—Helen Miller. You can call me Ms Miller or Helen. I'm from London and my phone number is 8336 001. I hope you like me. " 

"I like you, Helen，"one girl says. "My name's Kate King. I'm from Oxford. My phone number is 8975 002. " Then Kate gives a red flower to Ms Miller. 

"Helen, I love you，"one boy says. "I'm Dave Black from Cambridge. My phone number is 8790 041. "And Dave gives a red flower to Ms Miller, too. 

After that, two girls stand up and say, "We like you, too, Ms Miller. " Helen is surprised (惊讶的) to see them. They look the same. "We're twins from Liverpool，"one girl says. "I'm Lucy Brown and she is Lily Brown. Our phone number is 8790 032. " Then Ms Miller gets two red flowers again…

Everybody loves oranges. They are sweet and juicy and it is easy to eat them. 

The orange tree is beautiful. It has a lot of shiny (闪亮的) green leaves. The small white flowers smell very sweet. An orange tree has flowers and fruit at the same time. 

Farmers in other parts of Asia (亚洲) and the Middle East (中东) learn to have orange trees from the Chinese. Then they teach Europeans (欧洲人) how to plant orange trees. Later, Europeans take oranges to America. 

In English, orange means both a fruit and a color. We use the name of the fruit for the color.
