It's 5:30 in the afternoon. It's time for us {#blank#}1{#/blank#} supper together.There is a lot of {#blank#}2{#/blank#} on the table. My dad likes all {#blank#}3{#/blank#}of vegetables and soup. My mom likes fish and noodles. My sister Anna's {#blank#}4{#/blank#} are chicken and bread. I like beef, mutton and {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. After dinner my sister and I eat some fruit. And my parents usually drink {#blank#}6{#/blank#}. Then my mom likes going for a {#blank#}7{#/blank#} with the pet dog and my dad likes reading newspapers. Sometimes he watches TV. My sister and I usually do {#blank#}8{#/blank#} homework.

Last month, I went to Australia and had great fun there. My first stop was Sydney. I visited the Sydney Opera House first, then the Bondi Beach. On the beach, I saw many people lying （躺）in the sun. I never saw this in my country. It was very interesting. 

The next morning, I went to Fraser Island. The island is about 122 km long. It has beautiful lakes and beaches. I joined a Fraser Island camp with some friends. We drove a car around the island. We swam and enjoyed a barbecue （烧烤） on the beach together. We had a wonderful time. 

However, there were also many problems, One was that I couldn't speak English well. I wanted to talk with people there and make friends with them. But I didn't know what they said. Because of this, I often lost my way, too. Luckily, people there were so kind to give help. 

From the trip I feel that the world is small. I come to know that I have to study English very hard. 

During the National Day holiday of 2023, I had an unforgettable trip to Beijing. My family and I watched the flag-raising ceremony(升旗仪式) in Tian'anmen Square (广场).

That was a 1 important moment for us Chinese. It was 2 for us to get up very early because the ceremony started at sunrise(日出). 3 spent three days getting a chance(机会) to watch the ceremony. On the first day, 4 we got up at 5 a. m, we still missed the ceremony. The following day, we got up a little bit 5 in the morning. But when we got to the square, the street was already so 6 that we couldn't move. At last we could not get closer to the ceremony. So on the 7 day, we got up at around 3: 30 a. m. When we 8 the Tian'an Men Square,t he ceremony began. One hour later, we had a close and 9 view(看) of the flag raising ceremony. Seeing it gave me a sense of pride(自豪) and it really 10 my heart.

I was lucky to see it in Beijing because most people could only see that on TV. I am proud of being a Chinese student, and I hope our country will be stronger and stronger.

Xia Boyu who is 70 years old is the first Chinese double amputee ( 被 截 肢 者 ) to reach the top of Mount Qomolangma, the highest mountain in the world. He will continue1 on the high slopes (坡 度) of life. 

"2 I lost my legs, I don't think I am worse than the others, " he says. "I fight with my fate and challenge myself. "People often talk about dreams, but Xia is the kind of person who takes action to3 them. On May 14 last year, Xia made his4 come true by reaching the top of Mount Qomolangma. 5 didn't come easy. He had failed in reaching the top of the mountain four times before becoming a double amputee. 

Xia's first try was in 1975 when he lost his legs. Then he made other three tries in 2014, 2015 and 2016 but didn't succeed6 bad weather or an earthquake. 

"When I finally stood on the top of the mountain, I was pretty7 , not as excited as I had expected, " he recalls. "In the earlier years, I often dreamed about reaching the top. However, when it8 came true, it seemed that my heart found peace. "

Xia stayed at the9 for around 10 minutes. He took some pictures with others and looked 10 the mountain. At that moment, he felt it was all worth it. 

 Marco and Kim left the school and walked towards home.

"I wish we could play basketball at our neighborhood park." said Kim.

"But the basketball hoop at the park is1 ," said Marco. "It hasn't been fixed yet."

Marco and Kim walked past the town's recycling station. 2 Marco saw many recyclable plastic, paper and metal objects, he thought of an idea— Maybe we could reuse something to make a basketball hoop. As he looked around the station, an old plastic laundry basket(洗衣篮) caught his 3 . "We can use this." he held it up and said to Kim.

 Kim4 , "It looks useless."

 Marco smiled and said, "It won't look so bad. I could make a fine hoop with it."

 At home, Marco made a post and a backboard with some waste wood. Then he5 the bottom of the basket, stuck the basket to the backboard, and the backboard to the post. After that, he went to the park, dug a hole, and put the post in the 6 .

 The next day, Kim saw the recycled hoop. He tried and scored a goal. He said 7 , "I was wrong. It is a lot better than I thought!"

"When we reuse things, we make waste 8 again. And everyone of us could9 to our society."

"Wonderful! Now we can not only play basketball whenever we want, but also turn our neighbor into a 10 place!" Kim shouted and scored another goal.
