    We all want to succeed, whether it is in losing weight or learning the guitar. For those who have tried and failed, success seems difficult to understand. Why does one person succeed while another person fails?

    Finding your core values is in line with creating inner motivation. Pick a handful of things and write them down. Remind yourself of your values every day, and reflect on whether you are honouring those values through your work.

    ⒉Pick a goal and focus on it.

    Choose one goal to start something large enough that will give you a sense of achievement, while adjusting well to your core values. Focus is key here. If you perform many tasks at a time, you might never complete your projects because they will take far too long.

    ⒊Set a deadline for success.

    Set a date for success. Identify when you hope to achieve your goal.

    By setting a time limit, you are making the process more real.

   

    Failure can't be avoided when you take risks. Many people give up far too early. Use failure. Treat it as a good thing, and move on.

How to smile for better health

    As a fun way to improve your physical and mental health, smiling is free of charge. This article explores the ways you can smile to be healthy. 

    Smile to relieve stress. Stress is easily shown in our faces. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} When you're stressed, try to put on a smile, as it will make you feel happy, and you will appear happy. Your feelings of stress will be reduced.

    Smile to help your immune(免疫) system work better. Smiling brings about a sense of relaxation which helps your immune system to work better. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}

    Smile to stay positive. Have a simple test. First, try to think of something negative(消极的), and then smile. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. When we smile, our body and mind are sending us a message that everything is okay, and that life is great.

    Smile to live longer. Those who smile are thought to live an average of 79.9 years, while non-smilers live an average of 72.9 years. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}.

    Smile to achieve success. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. They will put their boss into a happy mood and are more likely to be approached by many people. They are more likely to be promoted. And it is an easy way to improve your relationships with others.

Myth: You can catch up on lost sleep on the weekend.

    {#blank#}4{#/blank#} A Harvard study found that even if you sleep for an extra 10 hours on the weekend to make up for only sleeping six hours a night for two weeks, those extra hours won't improve  your reaction times or ability to focus. Plus, sleeping late throws off your biological clock, which can lead to obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.

Myth: Alcohol can help you rest easy.

    {#blank#}5{#/blank#} Alcohol may relax you so you nod off quicker, but studies show you'll wake up more and get less of deep sleep you need to feel rested.

Go to class.

Take good notes.

Form study groups.

    {#blank#}5{#/blank#}Make sure that everyone is familiar with the material because you do not want to spend time re-teaching material to people who do not understand it. Be careful! Sometimes group sessions can become chatting sessions.

    These steps aren't magic, but they do work. And if you can stay positive as you make your way through a hard time, you'll help yourself feel better even faster. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}

    If Tononi's theory is right, it would explain why, when we miss a night's, we find it harder the next day to concentrate and learn new information — our brains may have smaller room for new experiences.

    Their research also suggests how we may build lasting memories over time even though the synapses become thinner. The team discovered that some synapses seem to be protected and stayed the same size. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} "You keep what matters," Tononi says.

Set aside limited time for computer use. 

Make sure not to turn it on too many times a week. If you have a laptop, make sure to put it somewhere that you can remember but not somewhere that you see every day. Try keeping the lid closed when you are not using it. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} If you have a desktop PC, try not to go near it or put something over it like a sheet. 

Call people instead of sending instant messages or texts. 

If you are free on weekends, call friends and ask them to go outside to do something you enjoy, like playing a sport. This will take your mind off the computer. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}.

Use an alarm clock or timer(计时器). 

Before using your computer, decide on a time limit such as 30 minutes. Set the clock or timer and make sure that you get away from the computer when the time is up. Alternatively create a shutdown timer on your desktop. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}.
