There once was a woman. She had a faithful(忠实的)dog. The dog was so faithful that she could leave her baby with the dog when she went out. (A) And after she returned ， she would always find her baby safe.

One day， the woman left the baby with the dog and went shopping. When she returned， she found something had taken place in the house. There were bloodstains(血迹)all over the bedroom. The woman then thought of her baby. She cried and started looking for him. Then she saw the faithful dog. It was licking（舔）its mouth. It seemed that it had just finished a delicious meal. The woman was angry and thought that the dog had killed her baby. Without thinking too much， (B) ________________.

But as she continued looking for her child， she saw something else. Close to the bed， there was her baby and he was sleeping. And under the bed， there was a dead jackal(豺狼). The woman now understood what had happened. The dog tired to protect her baby from the jackal， but just now she killed the dog. How regretful she was!

    A good book can help you learn more things than you can learn in class. If you want to get into a good reading habit, here are a few ways.

    Plan your time

    You should give yourself at least thirty minutes for reading every day. When time is set, nothing can change it.

    Always carry a book

    Wherever you go, take a book with you. When you leave the house, make sure that you always carry a good book as well as your school things.

    Find a quiet place

    Find a place in your home where you can read a book quietly and no one will trouble you. There should be no television, computer, music or even noisy family members around you.

    {#blank#}1{#/blank#} The main stairs are cleaned twice a week by the Association, so please try to keep them tidy and clean and do not leave furniture or bags on the stairs or in the hallways.

    {#blank#}2{#/blank#} Residents are asked to keep noise to a minimum. Loud music and other loud noise can disturb other people and the Association will get in touch with you if you make too much noise.

    {#blank#}3{#/blank#} Rubbish collection is on Tuesdays. Please do not leave rubbish bags out before Tuesday as birds and animals can break into them and they smell.

    {#blank#}4{#/blank#} The main lights are on a timer and they stay on for five minutes when you press them. Please tell the Association if any lights are not working.

    {#blank#}5{#/blank#} There is a washing line for every flat in the garden next to the car park. Please only dry your washing on these lines so it does not disturb（干扰） people in the ground floor flats.

    Bird lovers know that a good place to go bird-watching is Guandu Nature Park. As many as 220 kinds of birds come to this park every year. Since the park offers birds lots of food to eat and places to build their nests  it has become a paradise（天堂）for birds.

    Guandu Nature Park is also a great outdoor classroom. The park's Nature Center provides guided tours to the public. During the tour, visitors can learn about the environment. So, if you want to have a fun and educational weekend, come to Guandu Nature Park. Get away from city life and head into nature.
