ChatGPT is back in the headlines! OpenAI, the company behind the popular chatbot, has now introduced a powerful new language: GPT-4.

Several months ago, GPT-4 showed the world how smarter it is than the previous (先前的) GPT-3.5. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}For example, if you show a picture of a phone using the wrong charger, GPT-4 can tell why the picture looks strange or funny.

But GPT-4's developments are far more than that. The new language model can code (用代码编写) classic games in only a few minutes, and it also can produce the code and layouts (布局) for a website with a hand-made drawing. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} According to some scientists, GPT-4 did really well on a school test, with a score in the top 10 percent of test takers. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}

GPT-4 will also be widely used in other apps and services. For example, the language learning app Duolingo plans to use GPT-4 in their Duolingo Max Function. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}Another app, Be My Eyes, will have a digital assistant to help blind people understand the world around them.

{#blank#}5{#/blank#}GPT4 still can't get completely correct answers sometimes, especially with newer information after September 2021. GPT-4 also sometimes "hallucinates (产生幻觉)", it means that GPT-4 will think the wrong information is true.

A. GPT-4 is very popular to young people.

B. App users can learn language by talking with AI.

C. But GPT-3.5 only got a score in the bottom 10 percent.

D. There are still some problems with GPT-4, however.

E. You don't need to pay anything when you use GPT-4.

F. One of its advantages is that it can understand pictures.

G. GPT-4 is also much better than the older GPT at taking tests.

请先阅读下面短文,掌握其大意,然后从各小题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出可以填入相应空白处的最佳选项

"Tum left! Tum right!" In the information technology class, Zhang Ruixuan was controlling a robot to move around. What a wonderful and 1 classroom!

"This is part of our artificial intelligence (AI) courses," said the 10th grader 2 Beijing 101 Middle School. The school 3 Al classes to both junior and senior high school students. Students want to learn more, 4 there are also optional (选修的) courses, apart from compulsory (必修的) courses that teach basic knowledge. That means students have more 5 .

"This term in our compulsory class, we have 6 learned to code (编程) using a programming language called Python," said Zhang. Using Python to code is a 7 skill for training AI models. In recent years, Python has been 8 in high school graduation exams in places like Beijing, Jiangsu and Anhui.

9 , having AI education in schools has become a growing trend in many places, with Zhejiang Province being a typical example. In 2020, Zhejiang added AI 10 into textbooks from Grade 5 in primary school all the way to senior high. In the city of Wenzhou, the government is planning to 11 1,000 AI experimental schools by 2025.

Do you know ChatGPT? It's an artificial intelligence (AI 人工智能) tool. It can answer questions, tell {#blank#}1{#/blank#} ( story), and do much more. But it's very" thirsty", said a new study.

ChatGPT has" homes" around the world in data(数据) centers. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} it works, the computers in the data centers get very hot. Workers then have to use water to cool{#blank#}3{#/blank#}( they) down. Cold water goes into the pipes(管子) near the computers.

When you ask ChatGPT 20 to 50 questions, it" drinks"500 milliliters of water!

B

In Xi' an, there is a restaurant owner named Xiong Wencheng. He {#blank#}4{#/blank#} ( offer) the" No.6 combo"—a free meal, to help people in need for three years.

There is a sign on the restaurant door, it says," you {#blank#}5{#/blank#}( experience) a hard time in Xi' an now? If you can't afford a meal, you can enter the restaurant and ask for the‘ No.6 combo'."

The" No.6 combo" is made up of a bowl of spicy soup. locally called hulatang, and a baijimo. It {#blank#}6{#/blank#} ( consider) as a secret code(暗号) between the customer and the restaurant. With this secret code, the one who is in need can ask {#blank#}7{#/blank#} help without feeling embarrassed.

Actually, it's not {#blank#}8{#/blank#} easy plan. The cost of the combo is 8 yuan. Even if 20 people ask for it, it {#blank#}9{#/blank#} ( cost) 160 yuan. Besides the" No. 6 combo", the restaurant has been serving free breakfast to street sanitation workers(环卫工人) since 2015.

Developed by US company OpenAI,ChatGPT has taken the internet by.storm. People can ask the robot to write stories and emails,translate languages,and answer all kinds of questions.It does this by drawing on information collected from a large amount of internet text.One breakthrough behind today's model is a network called Transformer.The GPT models built by Open AI combined Transformer with unsupervised(无人指导的)learning,which means that the models can learn by themselves without being told what to look at.

"One of the biggest problems with ChatGPT is that it comes back,very  confidently,with false information,"Michael Wooldridge told The Guardian.This means that ChatGPT learns information from various resources but it cannot decide what is true or false.Some argue that ChatGPT will be used to make fake news, spread falsities,or be used for ill purposes.

Andreas Schleicher thinks the chatbot will become a very powerful tool in the development of education.But he also mentioned,"There's a great risk that we'll just blindly follow the answers that we get from ChatGPT rather than question it and create new knowledge.If students are only as smart as a smartphone,it means educators are not doing enough.People should focus on developing human skills that actually are important,such as imagination and creativity."

Schleicher added that as a tool,ChatGPT is going to make learning much more interesting and powerful, but as a purpose and goal, humans need to work very hard to win that race with technology.
