Mary is an American school girl. She is now in Beijing with her parents. Mary doesn't know Chinese, but she is studying Chinese. She often speaks Chinese to her Chinese friends. Sometimes they don't understand her because she can't speak Chinese well.

    It's Sunday morning, she goes out. She is walking in the street. She is going to the zoo to see elephants and monkeys, but she doesn't know how to get there. She asks a Chinese boy. The boy can't understand her. Then she takes out a pen and a piece of paper. She draws an elephant on it, and shows the picture to the boy. The boy understands now, and he shows Mary the way to the zoo. 

    There are no classrooms in Animal School, but there is a forest and a river. The forest is not small. It's big and green. The river is small, but it's long. Look, there are some animals there. Listen, what are they talking?

Mr Cow: Welcome to Animal School What's the matter?

Little Duck: I'm sad. I can't run, and I can't jump. I'm a bad duck.

Mr Cow: I don't think so. Please don't be sad.

Animals: Come on, everyone! Let's swim together!

Mr Cow: Have a try, Little Duck! You can swim very well.

Animals: Wow! Look at the Little Duck! He is so fast!

Little Duck: I'm the first! I'm so happy!

    It is 4:30 in the afternoon. School is over. Some children are in the playground. Look! Lily and Jenny are talking under the tree. Sam, Bob and Amy are playing a game. Frank and Jill want to join them. Sam says," OK. Please take turns." Look at the girl near the garden. She is Kate. She is reading a book quietly.

    One day a crow found a piece of meat. She picked it up in her mouth and flew to a tall tree. She was just going to eat the meat when a fox saw her. He came and stood under the tree and said," How pretty you are! My dear friend, you must be the most beautiful bird in the world."

    The crow was very happy by these words. Then the fox said," I can you see your pretty face, but I have not heard your voice. Why don't you sing a song?"

    The crow opened her mouth and began to sing. As she opened her mouth, she lost her meat. The fox picked up the meat at once and went away with it. The crow was very angy.

    My school is very big. It has sixteen classrooms. There are three hundred students in it. I'm in Class 2. Grade 4. There are two doors and six windows in my classroom. On the teacher's desk, there is a computer. We have twenty-five desks and fifty chairs. There are thirty boys and twenty girls in our class. We have three teachers. They are a Chinese teacher, an English teacher and a maths teacher. We all love our teachers.
