My husband and I were paying a visit {#blank#}1{#/blank#} my parents in Tucson. We went to a fast-food restaurant for dinner together. My husband went to the counter {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (order) dishes and I stood with my parents.

    My dad is 90 years old. He can hardly see very well and walks with a stick. I was scanning the restaurant, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (wait) to sit at the first table that was {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (convenient) than others. A woman who was sitting with her son made eye contact with me and asked me to come to her. With a {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(puzzle) look on my face, I pointed to myself and said , “Me ?” She {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (nod) and said, “Yes, you.” I walked to the table and she said, “Bring your family here. I can finish eating at the counter. My son is in {#blank#}7{#/blank#} hurry to leave anyway.” My eyes {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (fill) with tears as she wiped down the table and guided my dad to the seat.

    I always believe that there are {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (nature) kind people in this world. This woman has set a good example to her son, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} is a really lucky guy.

    I felt {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(luck) to have won a place to go on a cultural tour to sites of lost civilizations. We visited Pompeii in Italy and Loulan in China. Pompei {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(found) in the 8^th century BC, then taken{#blank#}3{#/blank#}by the Romans in 89 BC. Later, Pompei was destroyed by a volcano. It erupted and covered Pompei with ash.{#blank#}4{#/blank#} (fortunate), many people were buried alive. The city was forgotten for many years until the 18^th century when a stone with writing on it was discovered by a farmer. People started to dig in the area {#blank#}5{#/blank#}treasure and caused much damage. Thus, in 1860, the area was governed by the government so {#blank#}6{#/blank#}could be preserved and studied.

    Differently, Loulan disappeared under the sand. There were just a few {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(ruin) left. There was {#blank#}8{#/blank#}ancient water system {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (run) through the middle of the city. The desert was once a green with huge trees, but they were cut down,{#blank#}10{#/blank#}resulted in the city being buried by sand.

    They were both important commercial cities about 2,000 years ago. It was a pity that they disappeared for ever.

    One day, I took my daughter to the park. As soon as we got there, my daughter {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(run) to the swing（秋千）and asked for a push. When I was helping my daughter, I noticed another girl trying to make her own swing{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(go) high by herself. Her old grandmother was sitting on the chair nearby and smiling at us. Happily, my daughter {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(push) higher and higher by me.

    Then I walked towards the little girl. I asked {#blank#}4{#/blank#} I could give a big push to her. She smiled and said “Yes”. For the next hour, I pushed the swings, and played {#blank#}5{#/blank#} my daughter and the little girl. When we went home, I was tired {#blank#}6{#/blank#} very happy.

    One day two years{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(late), after a day's work, I went to pick up my daughter before going home. While I was waiting outside the school gate, a little girl smiled {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(sweet) at me and gave me a big hug. As I watched her run away, I realized that she was the girl whom I gave a big push in the park.

    So far, I couldn't forget her sweet smile and the warm hug that she gave me. In fact, if we give love to others, love will find its way back to us. It may travel {#blank#}9{#/blank#} heart to heart or it may blossom（开花）in the heart. The love we share, the {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(kind) we give, and the happiness we create will come back to us with a pleasant surprise.

    BEIJING·China will establish a new special economic zone in the{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(heavy) polluted province of Hebei to promote integration（一体化）with {#blank#}2{#/blank#}neighboring cities of Beijing and Tianjin, the government has announced.

    The Xiongan New Area will be {#blank#}3{#/blank#}the same national importance as the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, {#blank#}4{#/blank#}helped kick-start China's economic reforms in 1980, the official Xinhua news agency said, citing a circular released by the Chinese Cabinet.

    The new special economic zone{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(locate) around 100km south-west of Beijing, close to the Hebei provincial capital of Shijiazhuang and will house some of Beijing's relocated "non-capital functions". Dear Li Kang,

    I'm exciting to tell you about the American school system. Secondary school in the US usually covered seven years, grades six to twelve. At the end of twelfth grade, American student receive the high school diploma. Students need a high school diploma if they want to go to the college.

    The school year is dividing into two semesters, the first of that is September through December, and the second January through May. We have a long summer vacation! We start school in 7: 50 am and we finish at 3 pm.

    I take part in many amazed after­school activities—I play football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis and I went to theater club.

    Will you tell me something about your summer vacation and the Chinese school system in your next letter?
