Keeping pace with teachers is a fine way to study English. Teachers are experienced and their plans are systematic. But remember to work in a way that suits you. It's important to learn from past mistakes as well. Keep a notebook to make a record of the mistakes you make－it'll help you avoid making the same ones later.

    The time of life may be hard，but you're not alone. You may be busy studying，but you can show your care by calling your friends or sending short messages. Don't let your friendships die.

    It's as important to live well as it is to study well. Going to bed no later than 11：30 pm is vital. It puts you in the right mood for the next day. You needn't follow a special diet，but make sure you are eating nutritious meals each day.

    The person who plays well，studies well. Having a lot of schoolwork doesn't mean having to give up other activities. Playing basketball or having a talk with your classmates can relax yourself. Time out is not a waste of time but helps you study more efficiently.

    Besides taking the big exam，you have other choices for college. I took the independent enrollment exam held by Peking University and some other students even were preparing to study abroad. Pay attention to any relevant information you can find，whether it's from school，the news media or other sources.

    With the approval of the Singapore government, a company called nuTonomy has become the first-ever to test self-driving cars with the public. Interested people could sign up for a free trial run at no cost. When they received an invitation from the company, they could book a ride on the driverless taxi service from their smartphones.Not surprisingly,the rides proved very popular,with dozens of customers eagerly trying out the cars each day.

    Driverless cars are a great option for those who do not know how to drive and for those who do not enjoy driving.Some researchers even believe that such cars can make road travel safer by reducing human errors.But since driving requires many of our senses to be on alert（高度警觉）, replacing that by machines is easier said than done.

    The environment in which cars operate is constantly changing—from roads and pedestrians to co-travelers. A driverless car needs special equipment to analyze its surroundings. Then, it must translate that information into a practical route and safe travel. To be truly autonomous, a car has to do this independently without human input. Today, some cars have a certain degree of autonomous functions. But even the completely automated vehicles still require a driver to take back control under uncertain conditions.

    The island city-state is well known for excellent roads and drivers who obey the rules. This has made it ideal for real-world testing and feedback. The government has encouraged research in autonomous vehicles, since it can improve safety and potentially reduce the traffic burden as well.

    It's probably my favourite bookstore ever. It's "designed for travelers who like reading". It is famous for its travel book collection. Categorized by country and region, you can find books on history, arts, food, culture, film, literature, and many more topics of the region. It's absolutely fascinating. My favourite is the London literature section near the entrance. It's very tasteful selection and it's a pleasure just to read a few paragraphs while you browse (浏览). The interior is beautiful. Classic wooden counters, wooden floors, shelves and tables of book are organized nicely. Every time I passed by I had to make a stop there. Staff there are helpful and friendly.

    I love the convenience of Amazon but bookstores with special atmosphere like this just cannot be replaced.

    I don't read books as often as I would like. I just don't have time, and let's be honest, after doing all my schoolwork. I'd rather just put my brain on coast and read an OK magazine and catch up with some news about film stars. I was brought into Daunt while wandering down the street and it's really just an inspiring place and it actually made me want to "read" something. Really, if you're anywhere near the shop, do pop in and just look around, even if you have a love/ hate relationship with reading like I do. The inside of the shop made me look around as if I remember enjoying as a kid seeing some new big store, when in fact it's not new, but the sight of a bookstore with classic design charm is refreshing after spending so much time in libraries.

    Go and see it for yourself. You won't be disappointed!

    New England is the six northeastern states of the United States: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. The six states were among the first colonies (殖民地) in America. The colonies were ruled by England, and this is how the area became known as New England. After the Revolutionary (革命的) War the colonies became states.

    Many things are similar in the six New England states. For example, there are many stone walls, fishing villages and forests in these states. The houses and buildings are similar, too. People cut down trees from the forests to make space for their farms and villages.

    They then used wood from the trees and stones from the field to build houses, schools, and churches. Even today, most of the houses in New England are made of wood.

    There are big cities in New England, but there are also small cities and farms, especially in the northern part. There is much industry and business and New England is one of the most populous (人口稠密的) parts of the United States. It has many busy seaports on its long coast. There are always many tourists who enjoy the beautiful lakes, beaches, and mountains and who visit the historical places.

    The most important thing to keep in mind when you're going into high school is to be yourself. Besides, some high school teachers will not care about things like how much homework you have already had in one night. It's best to just learn to deal with things and manage your time wisely so you can achieve everything you need to.

    When I started high school, I was really nervous too, especially since I had been homeschooled all through middle school and didn't really know anyone. I suppose the best advice would be to just relax. The first couple of days can be a little bit hard, but things will become easier before you know it.

    I'm not going to lie. The first day is kind of frightening. But you'll get used to it. Don't be afraid of anyone; some students may pick on (故意刁难) you more if you let them know you're afraid. Just take it easy. Making some friends and staying with them will greatly help you get used to high school quickly. After the first week, it's really not bad at all. Don't worry.

Today, it's almost impossible to imagine a world without intranets, e-mail, and portable computers. We are rapidly shifting from an economy based on manufacturing and commodities to one that places the greatest value on information, services, support, and distribution. That shift, in turn, attaches great importance to "knowledge workers," a new class of wealthy, educated, and mobile people who view themselves as free agents in a seller's market.

Beyond the field of information technology, the increasing pace of technological change in virtually every industry has created entirely new business, wiped out others, and produced a great demand for continuous innovation (创新).New product, process, and distribution technologies provide powerful levers for creating competitive value. More companies are learning the importance of destructive technologies—innovations that hold the potential to make a product line, or even an entire business segment, virtually outdated.

    Another major trend has been the consumer and business markets.
